tighten center vents?

    i want to use center vents to mount gps,
    which makes them droop?
    how can i tighten them?

    They are just plastic snapped into plastic. There is not way to tighten them. people use plastic washers to wedge them when they get to loose, but I don't think it will work to mount something as heavy as a GPS.

    yeah i was thinkin to spray something onto pivots to make them real tacky

    I still don't think that will get you the support you are looking for.

    Try looking at Panavise's Mount. It mounts to the radio brackets, and slips out between the trim pieces, no cutting required. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00020D81Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

    I have them in my 3rd gen 4runner and 1st gen tacoma. I think there are pics in my build thread (link in signature).
