Fronts only have 3% tint on them from the factory. I had this verified from the guy that did my windows before the tint was put on. I had mine tinted 30% to match the rear (which measured at 28%)

3% would be pretty dark. 5% is considered limo tint

Yeah I mean it's only tinted 3% so 97% of the light comes through. My rears had 28% of the light come through so I had them put 30% on my windows. That made my final number upfront end up being 27%. Perfect match by eye and only 1% off on the gauge

Just clicked the link to the playset I posted earlier, apparently it went up considerably after I bought it. I picked it up for $350, it's listed for $500 today. I guess we bought at the right time! :bananadance:

That site tracks all prices for Amazon products based on the URL. Looks like the ones sold by Amazon were at $350, and now they only have 3rd party sellers selling the product, so they set their own price.

    Looks like a sweet deal!

I wouldn't have to deal with emissions, but the ABS / TCS could fall under the safety category, which doesn't have a cutoff. I suppose with the cost of replacement units, I could try and file a hardship thing with the state and get some sort of cash back.

I guess it's a wait and see until October.

The state looks for monitor readiness, as a co-worker with a tuned ST had to drive like 100 miles one day to get them to all set correctly, but I'll be curious to see how far the new system can / will dig. I would like to think sane heads prevail in that as long as none of your monitors have been forced ready and nothing is obviously skewed, you're okay.

Alright, I was forcibly reminded of a way my state isn't awesome on my way home last night: Summertime is actually "Road Construction Season" and there's rocks on the roads.

Aww crap, I got one of those myself about 1 week after getting my new windshield. Not as bad though.

I've got a windshield rider on my insurance, so it'll either be fixed or replaced at no charge to me, but it's still a hassle to deal with.

Personally, I'm hoping they opt to replace it because even though the repairs are invisible from the outside you can still usually see them pretty clearly from the inside. At least it's on the passenger side and not in my normal line of sight; it'd drive me nuts.

Down here they only fill the ones where the whole thing (including spider cracks) is less than the size of a quarter. That one looks bigger than that.

It's probably right on the edge. I haven't done the quarter test yet, but it's pretty decent-sized.

Fill it with glass epoxy before it spreads. I've seen shorter wiper blades so the wipers don't pass near the chip so the idiot doesn't have to pay for a windshield yet get rejected for improper equipment

After my windshield debacle(s), I'd rather a repair that actually works. I had the repair fail, the windshield replacement damage the truck, leak all over the place and damage the truck some more.

Well on this truck the windshield doesn't set flush into a recess, it's actually surface-mounted. So if they screw up the install it'll be easy to tell because you'll be able to see the gap in the seal through the glass.

Fingers crossed that they do it right the first time, though.

So here's the STI damage. Hard to see, but the edge of the plate and plate bracket left an indent, and the letters pressed in. :angrygirl:IMG_8078.jpg

IMG_8091.jpg Flywheel is trashed, and the clutch material is just above the rivets, so it was definitely time to replace this bad boy. Not bad for 178k though. I must say I'm thoroughly impressed by how this has held up!
