2017 running board/step pics

Looking for some pics of boards/steps. Tired of the rocks flipping up. The kids would probably appreciate having something too. I've looked at OEM and others. Leaning toward N-fab podium in black but not sure if I want the drop step. Pics would be appreciated. I'm stock limited and probably will be...

 

If you want something to protect from the rocks and road spray, the oem cast aluminum are the best I've found. I live on a gravel road and they have made a huge difference.

 

I ended up with the running boards designed for the Gen 2 Tacoma. Perfect for my use in every way. Chip protection, ding protection, and their integrated look.

These are the so-called "Predator" bars offered on the Toyota website. I bought them when I got the truck. I like them because they seem pretty stout, but are made from aluminum so won't rust. They have done a great job of preventing gravel 'spray' from the tires/road on dirt/gravel roads. They aren't rock sliders, however, would probably not endure a hard hit. I suspect that if/when these are damaged I'll get some genuine sliders, but for now I'm happy with them.

I think I like the idea of the OEM black boards. All of them certainly look great but it seems like the boards would be best for my situation. I didn't care much for the round nerf bars until I saw that pic above. Wow! Looks great on that truck! Not to mention the price is less than a third of the OEM boards.

 

I've had nerf bars on several previous vehicles, couple of Toyota trucks, a 4 Runner and a Jeep Wrangler, and my experience is that the steel ones rust, often fairly rapidly. I put ACE Rock Sliders on my '13 Wrangler, they're pretty heavy steel and powder coated, and they've done fairly well, 4 years old and just starting to show a little rust in a couple of spots. Some that were just painted began showing a lot of rust in mere months. Whatever you do, if you get steel bars, make sure they are well powder coated.

 

I like the OEM's for paint protection... Had them on my 2006 and now on my 2016...

And they DO NOT rust... Aluminum all the way man... 10 yrs on the old ones... I bought new just cause I can...!!

 

Same reason I got mine, haven't had a door ding yet and definitely cuts down on the crap on the sides of the truck. Not having to worry about rust is also what drove me to them, so many trucks out there with rusted out pieces of junk after a year or two.

 

Made a decision and went with the Havoc steps. I wanted a lower step and also a wider step. Hopefully I won't regret it. I love the look and they're stainless steel construction with black pc. We'll find out this Friday when I get them and install them with my pizza and beer!

Okay so I'm disappointed with this purchase. First of all, no fasteners in the box. Also the box had clearly been cut open and taped back closed like it was returned before. I went to the hardware store and found some bolts to use temporarily for a quick look. The step is awesome. The look is okay but I don't love it. However, the steps seem very low. I don't really like that. It's almost like they are built more for at least a 3 inch lift. Getting a RMA has proven to be an ordeal. Used Amazon to purchase from real truck online store thinking it would be easier. Returning isn't easy. Plus I'm gonna get dinged for return shipping. Considering just keeping them and selling them later. Black coated stainless steel havoc hs2 black hoop steps.

Thanks. I will say that I did like the larger step size and they are forward enough where I can get out without using them. Cost was $399 including shipping. Gonna lose $100 to send them back. Probably need to just use them and sell them later if I hate them. It's not like I'm doing any serious off roading or crawling here in the Hoosier state!

 

Can you get the original hardware from the company who forgot to ship it initially?
