Lol. I think the thing that did it for me was when I relocated my battery to the bed. The relocated battery doesn't seem like much, but it made a big difference. I also have aluminum skids, which are getting beat up, but still holding on pretty good.

Here's what the preload looked like with the 700lb springs:

And here's what the preload looks like with the 650lb springs to keep the same ride height:

Came out to a 1/4" difference. @bullaculla showed me some math beforehand to figure out the new preload so we could get it on the first try. Here's what he came out with: 14" 700lb spring compressed at ride height was 10 7/8" or 10.875" tall.
    14"-10.875=3.125"
    3.125" x 700lbs=2,187.5 lbs
I guess that means it takes 2,187.5 lbs of force at that spring to hold that corner of the truck up at my ride height.
To figure out the compressed spring height for the 650's at the same ride height:
2,187.5 divided by 650 lbs = 3.365" of spring compression
    14" spring - 3.365"=10.635"
    700lb spring height=10.875 minus the 650lb spring height of 10.635"= .24"

.24" is just about a 1/4" so thats how much more preload the new 650lb springs took to keep the same ride height.

It had about 5/8" of threads showing with the 700lb springs so the new 650's were preloaded 1/4" more at 7/8".

His math was spot on and my truck held the exact same ride height as before.

What do you mean? After switching to 650's, I had to preload my coilovers a 1/4" more than the 700's.

It is just crazy to think only 1/4 of an inch was needed to maintain the same ride height. It has me scratching my head as to why anyone would need the 700's at that point. I'm close to full preload on my Icon's and wondered if it would really benefit that much but with that math it seems like it wouldn't do much for me. Well I guess one side is near full preload. The driver's side has to be adjusted higher. Maybe a trim packer to offset it?

If you have the stock Icon 13" 650's. Just imagine an inch less threads showing with 14" 650's. You have to remember that the Icon springs are an inch shorter, so what looks like a bunch of preload, really isn't.

Ahhhhh. Missed that. Didn't realize it was off a 14" 650. Makes sense now. Did you feel a difference in ride quality?

Yeah. You will feel a difference in ride when switching to different rate springs. My truck is sort of in between needing 650 and 700's so I chose the lighter rate.

If you keep the same spring rate and get the one inch longer springs, ride quality will stay the same. You'll just have the illusion of less preload. It'll take the same amount of preload for 13" 650 and a 14" 650 to keep the same ride height.

50lb difference just seems like a small jump to be a night and day difference. What's the ride quality change subtle or big?

It's a subtle change but you can notice it on the small chop/washboard type bumps. It also makes a difference on how the shock rebounds.

And, it's not just 50lbs more, it takes 50lbs more force to compress the springs every inch than the 650's.

@duvinclunk We have linear rate springs. With the 700's it takes 50lbs more force to compress the spring an inch than the 650's. It's not as subtle as you are thinking.

I decided to run a couple gauges, oil temp and oil pressure. I'm still waiting on my gauge pillar to arrive but had time so I installed the pressure and temp sending units in an oil filter sandwich adapter. I think it came out okay.
