    Welcome Kurt

:sorry: I'm sorry about the job ... a quick google foo shows a bunch of plant closures in SC recently. What's causing the shake-up in the economy there? :(

That's where I was working, the new nuclear plants and the bankruptcy of Westinghouse caused this and the customer couldn't continue to fund the whole project themselves so they shut and abandoned the whole project and 6000 people got let go in a single day..

Hey Jim yes it does, and it is fast because of that. The trade off is that it draws more electricity to keep it hot. Someone on the reviews when I was looking at it put a watt meter on it and calculated the monthly cost and really wasn't that much. But because it is just me and I only drink 1 or 2 cups in the morning now I went to the Bunn K cups. It does the same thing and is even faster. As soon as you pull the basket out in the morning it starts to heat the water up. And comes with 4 different types of baskets so can do them all. K cup, pods, tea bags, strainer for ground coffee, etc. But like Rob I have gone to the K cups ordered some Tim Hortons from Amazon after being in Buffalo and having some at my sisters house :)

:( Wow, that's a whole lot of families affected. My thoughts and prayers go out to ya'll. Good group of folks here when/if you need a place to vent versus on those there with you.

    Keep the faith, Brother.

:fistbump: The key to the K-cups is finding the right roast with a reliable supply source. I need to go back and look at that Bunn machine as an option for when the current Keurig fails.

I couldn't like your first post Kurt with you loosing your job, but liked all of the rest of it :)

I retired from the Navy in Asheville, NC 21 years ago  Was a nuke and figured I'd get a job no problem. At that time the US had not been able to build a new nuke plant in almost 20 years from all the petitions and legal work to get one built. I remember that SC had one finally approved about then. I went down to the Oconee Nuclear plant to talk to them before I did retire. They were starting to lay off at the time and everyone told me to get into computers because everything possible was getting automated and that is why they were laying off. I had some experience with computers so got more involved with them and went in that direction, they gave me good advice.

Sure hope things work out for you and that you find something soon. Wish you the best of luck! And hope things turn around and they start to build more nuke plants again soon. IMO it is one of the best options. And we need the power on the grid.

Morning all even the FNGs though the one who likes ketchup on his hot dog.... I guess morning to you too. :hattip::pccoffee:

@Kolunatic Check out Cuisinart 12 cup ss carafe I have 3 of them lol 2 on the counter one in the camper.
Only draw backs are make sure you can screw the lid on straight lol and cleaning the carafe. The carafe. Is easier if you soak it with water and non scented dishwashing soap once a month. Coffee stays hot 10 plus hours in it ;)

Model # DTC- 975BKN 100 Bucks on Amazon.

    :hattip: Morning Cypher

Question occurs to me, do you drink anything besides coffee?

... reminds me of my active duty days, I personally drank 2 - 3 pots a day back then.

Just got back from a short vacation
The first morning found out the coffee pot didn't work. I took it back to resort office. It was a 7 mile drive to get there and while driving I realizied just how much I appreciate my morning cup of coffee. I ended up stopping at a local cafe just for a cup of coffee.
