Grill looks great, waiting on one from BPF myself. Quick question, anyone running a catch can? thinking about doing this just need a little push in the positive direction.

 

I think there's a few peeps that do/have it.

Post up in the what have you done to your 2nd gen thread, and I'm sure you'll get tons on input/feedback.

 

Looks good, can't decide if I'd black it out or not but the red looks fine

 

Thanks Tim! General concensus is to leave the red, so thinking about leaving it as is. For now definitely staying on to see if it grows on me or not.

I think the next big thing might be to invest in a bamf behind the grill light bar mount. Possibly thinking about getting rid of the bull bar to "clean up" the front sort of speak.

Bought a cap with roof rack on it today. Trusting it to not go anywhere until I can go get it. Truck still at the shop getting emissions legal, hopefully it's back to me Saturday. Figure I'll go get the cap Sunday since no rain scheduled.

Forgot to ask about mounting hardware, but don't think it has any. Guess some C-clamps & careful driving will work to get it home. From the it's a small world files, seller lives maybe 15 minutes walk from my house... and I was only finding caps I liked in Phili!

Good morning. TGIF! Gotta work our warehouse sale from 1-6 today. Argh.

 

I smashed an owl into my grille one time doing 90 so I have been through this color surround swap before. I basically broke all the tabs off then just glued it back on. Worked fine.

Also I say murder it out!!!

Since you're around me, stop by if you want to check some stuff out. I work for a company called Waterworks. We sell "high end" bathroom stuff, from tiles to towels and everything in between.

The warehouse is at 595 Federal Road, Brookfield CT. For that matter everyone is "invited". It's open to the public so everyone is more than welcome to stop by. If anyone does, make sure you ask for me so I can say what's up.

 

OH! The old Pitney Bowes building. I thought that was Best Buy corporate offices in there. Gotcha. If I get off work early enough I'll stop by as I'm running down Super 7. Hoping to get out early enough to get my emissions friendly & 'done' truck so - well so I can have my truck back!, & so I can grab the cap for it too. Should be done....

Worked our warehouse sale from 7-12. Came home, ate lunch, sent the wife on the way with the oldest to some party. Youngest was still napping so I went outside and cut the grass (kept checking the monitor) while she slept. Just got in and she's still sleeping.

 

bonus! Work bonus points in the bank, yard work done unhindered, parental duties completed w/ no fuss. A good day done for you.

 

Worked in Watertown this morning. Flew down to the mechanic to pickup my Tacoma, got there 2 minutes after closing. He was out driving my truck / resetting the computer for emissions. Came back, told me i'm all set for emissions, but the computer was shut down for the day. Also one of the parts for the truck was wrong, so I had to come back in 2 hours. 1.5 mile walk to get the truck.. still not done. Finally got it done, had to reschedule the pickup of the truck cap - 2x, but finally got it. Clamps I brought to fasten it were just too short to work. Ended up using tie down straps from roof rack to frame to hold it on & drove it home. Mind I bought it when the truck was in the shop.... Tape measure said it would fit, but in fact it's just a little too short to work. Now I have a cap to sell/trade & again shopping for a cap with roof rack for my 6' '02 Tacoma regular cab. Sigh, I like the look of this high top cap on the truck. Pics tomorrow after work.

Anyone want to trade a hightop ranger 6' bed cap needs paint for a Tacoma cap with rack or one of those bed racks for mounting the RTT?

I still think it would look good, the red looks out of place. Use a gloss to make it stand out. Or better yet get someone to use black reflective 3m vinyl or something.

Yea I don't remember hearing much maybe just some crunch. Had to pull it out so I could continue. I was booking up i91 in VT late night trying to get to the cabin for the night
