No she didn't get it serviced at the dealership, it was a Jiffy Lube or drive up service shop.

I shot it with some brake cleaner so hopefully it cleans off and doesn't come back.

I'll probably have to change the diff oil soon anyways I'm almost at 52k

Those quick lube places often crack the diffs/trans to take a few drops of fluid to use in an upsale racket. They show customers discolored fluids and try and sell often unnecessary services. OilStop is particularly egregious in this, i think they may have been sued because of bad business practices. I only go to their drive thru service in a pinch in our other vehicles and even when you absolutely insist they leave your diffs etc alone sure enough here comes the guy with the 'palette' of your fluids with examples of fresh ones as well. In your case I could see the guy making a mess and not cleaning it up.

80w90 cuz I'm too cheap to spend 3x the price for the 75w90... Should work just fine

Double USB port on the left side of the steering wheel

Allows a much shorter charging cable to be connected while the phone is in the Xgrip on the A pillar

Well I'm hoping that's the case where the mess just wasn't cleaned up by the mechanic... I'm a huge advocate for self service from the comfort of your own home but I was deployed... I don't know if they came with oil examples but she said they insisted she NEEDED to change the rear diff oil

I hate those types of businesses

More shots of the new wheels. I planned to keep the center caps off and paint the hubs (the front have a nice black cover of sorts from the factory but the back ones are rusty steel).. but I might actually put the caps on now.

I can't stand how they do business. The OilStop now first hands you a long disclaimer that appears to have been written by a lawyer saying that the additional services are optional , and so on. Then the hard-sell scare tactics start. I could see how someone who doesn't know alot about cars would buy into their spiel. They are certainly convincing if not truthful.I overheard a woman getting her powersteering diffs and trans done, her day went from a 35$ drive thru oil x ( OilStop you don't even get out of your car) to a come back in a few hours with over a thousand dollars while our techs figure out how much and what type of fluid the vehicle takes, lol.

    Too many to list.
Yesterday I prepped the frame for painting 12 hr day..today was 8-4 and got it painted with 2 coats of por-15.

Some of the issues I had along the way: I really wish I could of used a needler scaler. I had to use a steel brush and a screw driver to tap on the frame and get the rusted flakes to come off. Very tedious and as a result I missed a few spots. Also, the bumper wouldn't come off, and wearing the face shield and respirator is a pia but very necessary.

While it's not a professional job, I'm very pleased how it turned out since I didn't know what I was doing. The rust was just ridiculous in some spots..mostly the back end. I'll be doing the drums and painting my calipers tomorrow. Too damn tired now.

Sorry for the photo bomb :anonymous:

Installed bed stiffeners from user At The Helm. There's still a slight flare out of the bed sides, but it's much better than before. The paint overspray on the yellow sticker is from when I was painting the holes I had to drill. I had to re-drill 2 of the 6 holes... those mistakes are covered up by the stiffeners. The two exposed holes on the left are from whatever the previous owner had mounted there.

    None. Yet...
Got ours last march when we were sure we were going to get a truck. Then we decided we weren't. Then a week or so before the check expired we pulled the trigger. Will finally get to try it out next week at the beach. Just fits under the tonneau like yours. /twothumbsup.
