Took the new suspension, tires, & wheels for a test run in the Alabama Hills in California. King 3" suspension lift kit set to 2.5" (front 2.5 remote reservoir coilovers, rear 2.5 remote reservoirs, Total Chaos UCA's, Toytec add-a-leafs), Method Race Wheels 17" Vex bronze wheels, BF Goodrich KO2 AT tires 33" (285/70/17).

Absolutely thrilled with how it all turned out, and the improved capabilities of my truck. My approach/exit angles have vastly improved, the suspension can handle whatever I throw at it, and the tires grab onto sand and rock beautifully [did a few donuts and opened up the throttle to test it out ;-) ].

Okay guys I'm looking to lift my truck next month, I want a 3" lift and I'm knee deep into research but this is my first ever truck and could use some help. I originally was planning on doing a cheap readylift sst leveling kit but after some research decided against it. I've had alot of people tell me to just save up to do a suspension lift instead. So my dilemma now is which lift kit to go with. I have a few questions if any of you could help me out. My budget for the lift is about $2000 not including labor so which of these kits would be better.
    1) I want a 3" lift or enough to be able to clear 285-295/70r17 tires. Which will give me that amount of lift I desire
    2) I don't do much off roading maybe about 1-3 a year I take a guys trip down to the coast for Sharkathon so it will be more of a mall crawler/payment princess if you will. Which kit will be better for my use?
    3) if any happen to have one if these setups on their taco I'd love to see picture to get a idea of the finished product
    4) if you have any reminders or if I'm forgetting something please let me know IMG_2174.jpgIMG_2189.jpg

These are the two kits in interested in but would love to get you all's suggestions and input about which kit would be better, or if another kit maybe a better option. Thank you all in advance.

I don't have either yet, but the OME kit you have picked out is a popular one with the folks here. It's widely viewed as one of the best value lifts on the market. I had the toytec ULK on my '15 Tacoma and I was happy with it. For my new truck I'm looking at the bilstein 6112 front and 5160 with either new leaf springs (the ones in the OME kit you have on your list) or a 3 leaf AAL. The price for that kit is in between the two you have selected.

Personally, I don't think you'd find any shortcomings between those two kits by the sounds of what your plan with the truck is. My vote is go with the cheaper one and keep that money ready to spend on the many other things this forum will convince you that you need. Good luck, you'll be glad you talked yourself out of the spacer lift.
