Never said I had a locker. :) But, no, in the same situation as in the video, both wheels on mine would absolutely be turning at the same speed after the left rear tire started to free spin the right rear tire on the sidewalk would fully engage and be spinning at the same rate as the left rear wheel, gripping the sidewalk and calmly move forward. I promise you, if yours acts like that something is wrong! One time I put too much additive. We were pulling an old pole out of the ground. Wrapped strap around it, and tied it to my frame. Took about 20' of slack, floored it! When the slack from the strap ran out, rear tires started to dig in. Right away I heard similar sound. Friend who was outside the truck told me something is wrong, tires arent spinning right! Put correct fluids in the diff. prob. solved! Positive traction worked correctly again! Ripped the pole right out of the ground!

If clutches work properly, what happened in that video will not happen!

Sorry, that's perfectly normal. If it was a locker, it wouldn't be normal.

Limited SLIP differentials will do just that.

That absolutely sucks! Guess I got lucky with Tacoma because it 100% does not do what is shown in the video!!!! When LSD kicks in, the diff. spools! When I had my Lexus with the Brake assisted LSD it would do crap like what is shown in the video.

That's all I can say brother.

Factory spec is 150ftlbs of force needed to slip the clutch pack in a perfectly working mechanical LSD in our 2nd gen tacomas..... this is EASILY overcome by our motors. While yes it DEFINIETLY helps out much more so than a full open diff, @jboudreaux1965 give me your truck and i can GUARANTEE i can put it in a situation where the tire with no traction just spins and spins and spins while the tire with traction stays stopped, if it infact has a factory LSD

There is no lsd "kicking in" with a clutch pack LSD found stock on the 05-08 sports, it is ALWAYS "active" meaning the clutch packs are always engaged.

Now its very possible a previous owner put in a lunchbox style auto locker in your axle (they do make em) at which point you do NOT have an LSD but an actual auto locker.

I start other project... i bought 4WD auto trans., transfer case and drive shafts too (he threw those in free) . (Its from an FJ if I can figure out if the front diff will work in mine, ill grab it too. :) )
