Maybe they will set it up to allow you to turn off all that shit.

probably, but I remember reading something to the effect that if you have this technology and turn it off- if you are involved in any type of accident, your insurance company my deny your eligibility, based on the fact you turned off the safety features. Not 100% on this, but I also remember reading that if you tinker with other safety features, like raising your seats, your insurance company could also deny your coverage if those mods result in damages, fwiw.

Anyway, just glad not to have it, regardless of how great it might be, just for the fact that it represents another thing that could malfunction and need a costly repair in the future.

Anything that saves lives is a good thing.

They cannot deny you for turning off any of those features BUT I would make sure that they can be turned off. Don't rig the car where they are turned off or you could have some issues depending on the law of the state and policy terms. My features on my Yukon can be turned off or modified for sensitivity. The lane departure tech is borderlining dangerous if the lines are not clearly painted so I turned it off. Also, simply read the policy because the insurance policy is a contract that defines coverage. When in doubt, read all that crap because you would be surprised what they can and do slip in at times.

The biggest potential issue I see on here for folks possibly getting screwed by their insurance company is simply not letting their insurance company know of mods that increased the value of their trucks. When modding it is very important to let the insurance know of the increased value within a reasonable time after the mod.

Sometimes though, it's still not enough. If only there was a way to let people FARTHER AWAY know that you are driving a ram. Like a laser show emitted from the bed.

Does the Safety Sense automatically include dynamic cruise control? Has anyone used that in a Corolla? If it worked well, that is a feature I would like.

There's someone who drives a new diesel titan on the beaches.
Doesn't understand a 7,300lb truck might need to air down, just sits there banging off the limiter at 12mph, rooster-tailing all the way down the shoreline. This amuses everyone, greatly.

That's the kind of crap that happens on our beaches--amuses everyone until they run over the three-year-old girl lying in the sand (actually happened 5 or 6 years ago here). Fortunately young kids are much more rugged than we often think, BUT 'twas my great-granddaughter god-help the rooster-tailing ass-wipe...

This is so OT for me but I gotta say, try that on Ocracoke Island with the whole beach being Federal Park land and he gets a nice 5-8-days in jail.

Would be awesome lesson to see dished out, just sayin!

I understand that; but imagine being with a bunch of friends, downing a few pints, and not wandering "off-topic" once in a while--sounds boring as snot to me...

    Good point @cliffyk

Honestly the best conversations kind of meander all over the place when me and friends get together. Lol...

I am thinking of going ahead and ordering a 2017 SR DC and if I find there are changes I would really like in the 2018s the dealer will let me decline the ordered truck and just wait.

I am perturbed that Toyota shows options code AA for the Dark Satin wheels but SouthEast Toyota doesn't play that way! :annoyed:

Are they even still taking 'orders' for 2017s? Or are you meaning a dealer trade for the 17 you'd like?

They looked up the DC SR vin numbers in silver and said they saw about 50 of them and would just need to make the request to allocate one for them, hit or miss.
Thing is I only want Conv and Tow, NOTHING else.

When I ordered my 2015 Utility 4-cyl MT it was a three month wait b/c they declined to do it over 6-times. My dealer said if I was patient they would keep asking until they said yes, lol...

But they said they can still order 2017s depending on the config until about the end of Oct...

Haha yea. Honestly my first preference is a 2018 off-road in cement. But I'm driving a borrowed vehicle as I already sold my Tacoma. Thought the 18s would be out sooner. Oh well, now I'll just try to get a 17 at a better price.

Pretty sure it was confirmed that the 18s will not be arriving at the Dealers till early December.

I always liked the looks of the SRT10 Ram, plus it has a 6 Speed Manual too!
