Oh hey - I changed my own oil in my driveway today after having a Fumoto valve installed. Totally worth it!

You'll need to part out the goodies if you want to get value back. I've seen fully loaded LT rigs with $10-15K of upgrades go for low 30's on here.

Well, the stock truck alone carries a trade in of 29.5k.

Taking all the parts off would be the most profitable option. Taking off the Kings and TV UCAs would be doable, but I'd rather not swap the leafs back to stock. The stock rear shocks won't work with the AP Expo leafs.

I also have a Prinsu rack (never installed), AP Expo pack rack, and a CVT Summit Shasta that will likely be sold too.

If you have the stock stuff... a day of wrenching with some beers, pizza and friends can bang it all out. Granted some stuff will need replacing if the bolts broke or the oem parts were damaged... I'm sure someone here has a oem suspension setup that they can sell you for cheap. It's totally doable and will net you more in the long run. Selling a modded truck/car never gets you what you want now-a-days it seems.

    Totally!

I still have all of my stock suspension in my shop.

I love my Tacoma... but, like I stated, our life changed and we actually need something bigger with more towing capacity.

I'd love to find a way to keep the Tacoma, but the equity in it will reduce the insane price to get into a diesel rig.

I live on 10 acres with horses and goats, and I was getting by with my 2.7 liter power plant to bring home 2 ton of hay at a time. If you have a v6, towing is 6500# rated. When you start to look at what is needed on a small farm, a Tacoma can do quite a bit. As somebody who is already in the farm type situation, and lost a Tacoma, for fuck's sake, keep the Tacoma. I still miss having my Tacoma four its abilities, and yours is far more modded than mine was. I now have a ram 1500, and it isn't really much higher towing capacity than your truck (7400#).

I have the front suspension minus top hats, and rear shocks, all Bilstein stock from @penguins_cc truck you can have if needed.

I'm out. Wife is still a little upset that I got a flatbed trailer for about $1000 a few weeks ago.

I don't deal with horses, although we do have other livestock.

It's not the hay that bogs me down. We run a vineyard and the landscape supplies, plants, piping, etc., is where we are testing the limits.

Add in all the gear and people inside and I am getting pushed when stopping. I'm a big fan of not staying at or near the towing capacity on a daily basis. Not to mention that gas mileage takes a dump on the short section drives, with that weight, between fields.

I do understand it's a very capable truck and it has served me well. The diesel, for its towing capacity and payload is what we're in need of. Not to mentioned towing my 10k pound tractor around isn't possible with the Tacoma.

Overloaded tacoma...done that once or twice. I used my in-laws 07 awhile back to bring a pallet of concrete home. 4200# of concrete in a trailer rated for 2950 gross. Many times of squatting my Tacoma, even on Dakar leaf packs. As for 10k tractor, screw the 3/4 ton. Just go to a 1 ton, and if you have the coin to throw, get it with a diamond plate flatbed with hidden gooseneck hitch.

Objectively look at your needs and get the truck that safely does the job. There's an online tow guide calculator my dad has a link to if you would like to use it, I'd have to dig it up.

Dad has a '99 dodge cummins 2500 with the suicide rear doors that he needs to start selling in about 2 months - I would suggest it, but you probably will want 4x4 since these trucks easily get stuck with their heavy front ends and light rears.

One issue with a taco is that it doesn't have an 8' full size bed, which can make a huge difference.

Yeah. It will need to be a 4x4.

It's a little off-putting to see a King Ranch package listed at 78,000. SEVENTY-EIGHT. What the hell?

I would like to know the price on this truck please. Even 2wd, the older 5.9 Cummins trucks can easily sell for 15-20k. If I had a higher truck like this, I could possibly sell off my half ton ram and get back into a Tacoma.

Yeah, Dad just went through all that. He bought a Lariat trimmed F350 from some place in Portland for the best deal he could manage. I think he may have done slightly better than the Costco pricing, it seems that prices are pretty set these days.

I'll keep you in mind when he gets ready.
