No, shit! There is no flatter trip in the US. Average speed 43 mph.

I know, I just did the trip in May.

Regardless, the view from the bridges from key to key make this the most enjoyable 100 mile trip at slow speeds.

Jeezus! Do you ever see the bright side to anything?

In guessing when you smell flowers, you look for a corpse.

Fishing, learning about the history, including past presidents and writers.

Fishing, Mallory Square, drinking seems to be a big past time. The food is great! I'm talking sea food. If you want a hamburger, you won't be impressed.

People watching is amazing. Lots of good looking ladies.

The pool side tiki bars allow pasties. Nothing like almost topless bars.

I've been going every other year, but we stay on Big Pine and go fishing from there, but we always take an evening to go to KW. Mid week is better for crowds, but it doesn't matter what day you go, it will always be busy.

I can't describe the atmosphere of KW. Maybe the clock has no meaning, I dunno.

If you like Jimmie Buffet music now, you might not like it so much after a KW visit. His tunes are played everywhere.

Drinks in plastic cups or bottles are allowed, we generally amble from bar to bar.

I figure I need to live to 110 to visit them all at the present rate.

I was stationed there at Truman Annex in the early 80's after the boatlift, wasn't the big commercial attraction it is these days. Ah yes, the Duval crawl

The African Queen, the real one used in the 1951 movie, is in Key Largo--it was restored in 2012 and now offered for canal and dinner cruises--pretty cool...

Lovely drive...... as long as there isn't an accident or some block party slowing down traffic for miles.

I visited Key West this last October while on a cruise. WAS supposed to go to the Bahamas but that massive Hurricane was hitting the same time we were driving down so instead we got rerouted. The bright side was that the ship was only at 30% capacity and as someone whom hates people, it was glorious.
