We're all dying to know man... How is it running so far and what kind of maintenance/repairs have you had to do?

couple sets of tires, oil changes all at the dealer because i get free tires for life as long as i do maintenance there. probably going to need brakes soon. one of the license plate lights just went out, put a couple sets of wipers on it. truck is an sr5 4x4 4 banger auto access...

irritations : hood glue, shifting, no dust grommet on the odo stick, thin windshield, front body mount bushing metal on metal, having to spray off the squeaky leafs, ticking speedo and tach. i didn't get any of those fixed under warranty or otherwise.

love the truck though. no major problems. i don't drive it like i hate it but i'm not easy on it in the slightest.

Great feedback. One of the things I have always likes about Toyota is that they have small problems and annoyances not major catastrophic failures. Most of which are determined and documented on TW early in a generation's life. But beyond these small things that most trucks have, you don't here about catastrophic failures even after lots of miles. Thanks for the feedback.

how is the condition of the seats?
    any signs of premature wear?
some have shown wear on the edges and the stitching
    starting to come apart.

4 cylinders for the win. It looks like that engine in the 3rd gen seems to be the safer choice.

    Based on what??
There's some high trouble free mileage V-6 on this thread. But it makes perfect sense that the highest mileage will go to the more economical engine designs, that's just smart thinking on the owner's part

Not sure there have been many problems with the v6. Most the complaints are throttle and tranny maps tuned for mileage not fun.

If CPS missed the quality check, rear ends are leaking, 3rd brake lights not assembled correctly, and air intakes are not tightened (among many other quality misses) it makes me wonder what else is a ticking time bomb inside this truck.

Fair enough on the CPS and I suppose the air intake. The others problems are not motor specific. Time will tell reliability of the v6 but this thread shows that a few are putting miles on theirs without new problems surfacing.

The complaints about the CPS and stuttering/stalling issues while accelerating don't give me the warm and fuzzy on the V6.

If I had to choose between the two engines, I would go 4 cylinder. Most of the engine related complaints I see come from V6 owners.

Floor/throttle vibrations also seems to be a V6 exclusive.
