Owners manual on many 2.7 motors calls for 0W-20. The only way you can get that viscosity in today's world is to buy it in synthetic form.

If I could get a dealer change for 24 and I had a dealer close by. I would have to consider taking it.. But I get synthetic and oem filter for 26 out the door. I prefer the longer oci's provided by synthetic....ok I just talked myself out of dealer oil changes.

I do my own oil changed for $15 total for Mobil 1 synthetic oil (5qt for $10 after rebate) and an oem filter ($4.50).

My dealer charges $70 for synthetic, which is insane.

You are just guessing at what oil the dealer puts in your truck, unless you actually see them open the container and watch them pour it in your truck,I wouldnt believe a damn thing those thief dealers say they do,full synthetic oil I highly doubt they use.

Last year when I bought my used Tacoma I went to the dealership to have them run the VIN so I could see what maintenance the previous owner had done to the truck. While I was there I had them do an oil change. On the way home I noticed blue smoke coming out of the exhaust. After checking the dipstick it was obvious the oil was way overfilled. Got home and drained out almost 8 quarts of oil. No idea how a trained tech could butcher and oil change that badly. The real kicker was that someone had also stolen my "pain medicine" out of my truck at the dealership.

Needles to say I will never go back to my local Toyota Dealership. I do all my own work but do like to use OEM parts and fluids. I know drive an hour to the next closest dealership for parts.
