    I guess I sheared off my zerk in my rear drive shaft u-joint again. I should just buy a box of those zerks and be done with it.

    What size zerks do our trucks usually take?

    Yeah, I saw a lot of good home made solutions. I don't have a drill press though and they all require one. Looks like I can get away with a longer L bracket. It's only a 4' awning so nothing major.

    A regular drill will work. I just happen to have a drill press handy.

    Wheelbase is 12" longer, so....no clue actually. Iirc 87" was maximum length for a one piece. Cuz physics.

    Replace the damn u-joints with non-greaseable. No more zerks to rip out

    But....... seriously, look into a zerk plug. Pull it and throw the zerk in to grease it, then pull zerk and install plug. No more ripped out zerks. @Subway4X4

    A plug that fits into a zerk hole. Flat top so nothing sticking out. Typically used on ball joints where there is no clearance fir axke shaft if zerk is left in.

    This sounds much cheaper and much less work than replacing a u-joint.

    Greasable u-joints have more tolerance so you can get more contamination and shorten the life of the bearings.... get sealed ones or stay on top of them regularly if you wheeling on pewp water and mud...
    I belive @Wheelspinner mentioned once greasing then as often as every oil change or after wheeling to push all the bad junk out... or something of that nature.

    I got sealed ones on my one piece DS

    Did you break them or just came loose and lost them?
