It happened on my Gen 1. I took a chain and wrapped it around a 3' tree and tried to pull it out using the truck. No dice, welded. Everything I tow has a 2" ball.

 

So I'm trying to change out my shocks and they seem to be rusted on pretty good. I've been PB blasting them the last couple of days to get them ready and no luck. Any suggestions?

Same thing happened to me. I ended up taking the cutoff wheel to the top bolt.

 

That looks like a better design than the 5100s. Mine was a hex socket on the top of the stud, and sand and salt had gotten in and rounded it out just enough so it was useless.

 

X2. You need to use a crescent wrench to hold the top flat part as you loosen up the nut.

Okay, I thought I had this one but nope. Damn NE rust got me again!

 

Mine were rusted on pretty badly also. I ended up taking a Sawzall and cutting the stud. I was able to loosen mine but I couldn't keep hold of the top part and back the nut off. Figured they were junk anyways so I just made my life easier with a metal blade.

These cars amaze me, did all of ri and had a forester leading me. Car us getting a ADF 4 inch lift and some good tires

 

Any of you guys found good prices locally for loam and washed stone? Some of the pricing I'm finding seem a little high to me but maybe it's just the going rate. The stone I could probably pick up but the loam I'd have to get delivered because of the quantity I need (if you know someone privately looking to get rid of dirt and it's show up, shovel what you need and go, I could make a few trips with my truck). If you've found any good hidden gems, let me know!
