Just some minor changes like they usually do, they will probably be adding some features too but I think they are waiting on the Ranger to come out first.

I'm nervous to take mine in due to everyone's stories about repairs.

I don't want to drive a rental or deal with any of that crap. I want my oil changed, a transmission TSB update, Entune update, and to be sent on my way. I've never driven a toyota before, and took my 2001 ford sport trac to 260,000 miles. I paid a premium for toyota because I was under the impression that I wouldn't need to change almost every part on the vehicle by 200,000 miles much like I did with my Ford.

I did my steering rack, transmission (5spd) and clutch twice, alternator, shocks, bearings, t-stat housing, coolant sensor, pcv x 2, busted vac hoses, valve cover gaskets, AC compressor, etc.

    Time will tell....

Sign the waiver, get parts ordered and go about your day. If it's just a slight weep
like the majority, mine included, you'll be fine. I'm taking it in early Sept. and doing just that.

Probably LED taillights, minor interior and exterior upgrades. Toyota might have some solutions to current issues implemented.

I had to go check my 2017 OR LB that I have had for about 9 months with only 3800 miles (yeah I work from home, hence the mileage) and it is starting to show signs of a slight weep.

My 17 OR LB was seeping as well. I checked torque myself and all nuts were properly torqued to value. Took truck in for 5k service and they ordered parts, torqued and cleaned up diff. Diff is Still seeping. Stains are actually much larger now.

So, at least in your case, the re-torque is NOT a fix??

Those tiny damp areas by the seams argue for an improperly dressed sealing surface as much as a torque issue. You better take that in so they can take some turns off your fasteners to achieve a "normal" amount of seep from the diff. It should be seeping from other areas as well as just the sides ; )

The 200,000 mile reliable Tacoma's were made years ago, the 1st Gen and early 2nd Gen, once Toyota started to dominate the mid size truck market, Cheapo Chinaland, save cash parts mentality took over, no different than any other car manufacturer. Which is sad.

I think it means they will fill the Transmission correctly, have a better shifting transmission, better CPS units, quieter rear ends, noise free leaf springs, whistle free front ends, dump the Entune garbage. By that time they will start having the 3rd Gen Rust recall campaign in full swing........LOL:(

Yes, my nuts were torqued properly to start with and still seeped. Doesn't seem like a torque issue, at least in my case.

So I held off on taking my 2016 to the dealer after reading all these horror stories over here, but after dealing with some vibration while braking at high speeds I decided to get it done.

Turns out the truck was leaking, and they wanted to hook me up with a sedan rental.

I need the bed of my truck often though and none of the rentals nearby had any trucks so I made that clear to them and the dealer decided to hook me up with a nice 2017 4X4 TRD Tundra so guess I got really lucky lol. I guess the thing that will bother me the most is the worst mileage on it, but besides that, I am pleased with what they gave me.

Wrote the NA Toyota CEO an email and got a call back within 48 hours from the executive team. They are working on getting me a true ETA and something other than a corolla rental. It's only been two business days so we shall see, but so far they have called with updates when they said they would.

Toyota has always had issues with trucks! My neighbors 1983 4X4 bed was rusted completely through, his painter found a relatively rust free bed in New Mexico. He was lucky to live in a mild climate, so it lasted this long, others had daylight all around in just a couple of years. I wish I had thought of all these problems before I bought a Toyota.

i used to own a triumph spitfire for a while.
for every hour i drove it, i could expect to work on it for one hour,
body, electrical, suspension, engine everything broke.
i carried a box of tools everywhere i went.
finally i threw the car away.
then i bought my first toyota, it took me a year before i
felt comfortable leaving my tools home.
if you are so unhappy with your toyota
you should get rid of it.

Just turned mine if for the Rear Diff Recall. They said it was definitely affected. I noted a loss of power. The dealership has absolutely no idea when they'll get the parts in to work on it. They've said at least two weeks. I'm not holding my breath.

I didn't even consider this. My sympathies. My truck was just taken in today. 104 is ridiculous.

drove my 17' home a few weeks ago. i have no issues thus far... i only have 600 miles on it. but how are you guys getting toyota to check the torque, or measure the transmission fluid level (I've read thats an issue too). do i need to schedule an appointment? or do i just drive on in and demand they check my truck over because ive read stories on TW?
