Our football team sucked. People came to watch the band perform.


Its kinda sad now, but they are still competitive even though they only have like 80-100 students.


We had damn near 300 when I was in.

 

High school football and basketball are big here too.

It still was never "cool" to be in band, unless you were a drummer.

 

Low Brass Kicks Ass.

 

When they aren't evacuating, football !!

 

I went to my first high school football game last year, was disappointed they don't serve beer.

 

Brass in general had more fun than woodwinds. At least for us. We'd have the better music, and parts for brass.

 

This. They oughta know who is old enough and who isnt....

I was a bass drummer, back up snare if someone passed out. Moved to low brass my freshman year. Started with baritone, moved to sousaphone.

 

I did trumpet, horn, baritone.

Wanted to pick up learning bass drum, but they told me no.

 

I got suspended and had to sit out of three performances because I made shirts for all of the low brass that said: Low Brass Kicks Ass.

I had it hidden, but not very well. I gave them to everyone in the section to wear after our first State Fair morning performance.



Director Love did not like it one bit.

All the parents meet at a bar around the corner from the stadium for pre game drinks.

 

One of those pedal party carts with a keg that the parents can pull up in.
