    Hello All,

I am having in issue finding a brand of wiper blade that does not skip or squeak like crazy. Anyone else have this problem? On my second pair in as many days. Maybe the arm springs are week & need replacing?? Never had this type of problem on a vehicle before, blades are usually plug & play.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had bosch (don't remember the name, maybe icons?) and they were awesome in rain/snow. Thought I'd try a pair of rain-x from walmart for 7 bucks each, absolute crap. Unless it's a heavy downpour, they are squeakey and don't clear the windshield that well.

I have not had any luck with any blades I have tried either. Currently have Rain X expert fit, and they were good for about 3 days. Not only do they streak, but the clip that holds the drivers side blade to the arm broke, so now the drivers side blade flops around. I just ordered some Valeo 600 series wipers. I had great luck with them on my old truck. I will report back once I get them in and run them for a few days.

There is a way to clean the film off the outside glass - it might be with vinegar. But if the glass gets washed every other week, then it shouldn't be a problem.

The bosch icons are good - that passenger side will last for ever, just need the drivers side maybe once a year. Apparently some denatured alcohol can be used on the silicone based blades (like the Icons) to clean off the dirt and make them last a really long time.

I use OEM currently. Loved the Bosch Icons on other vehicles but had the driver's side blade streak at the leading edge after only a month or so twice on my Tacoma. The OEM's end up doing it too but at a third of the price. Wish I'd have had better luck with the Icons...

I have a pair of the expensive rain x, not the cheap ones, and they work quite well.

I have trico force wiper blades on both of my tacos. One set i replaced last august and they still work great

Edit: got them at oreilly's. I also noticed that the skipping is caused by the plastic portion of the blade that fits into the hooks of the truck

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    OE normally.

Learned long ago that Asian blades / coolant hoses work better and last longer than any aftermarket part, and are almost always priced reasonably.

I will say I grabbed a set of Goodyears at Costco last year, and they did ok for about a year. Not bad for our conditions and the $7 price. For a pair.

Installed Overhead Compass and Temperature Display along with outside temperature sensor and wiring; LED lights reverse backup; LED license plate lights; Added GTA Bluetooth Audio kit to stock radio for iphone audio; Spare tire steel braided air hose extension connection to rear bumper; Installed new headlights along with new bulbs PIAA H4 XTreme and for fog lights PIAA H10 XTreme bulbs. Installed new hood with "hood-scoop". Installed Predator Side Steps. Replaced front chrome grill with customized color matched (Desert Sand Mica) grill with added TOYOTA lettering (also in matched color), installed and secured tailgate anti-theft devices. Also installed a new external TPMS monitor for all 4 tires.
I used to have Bosch wiper blades on my 2008 Tacoma which had replaced the OEM wipers which didn't last that long, what like 2 years at that but have since recently installed PIAA Super Silicone wipers.

After reading all the reviews I could find about these wipers I decided to go with them, since most of the reviews stated that they have lasted at least 5 years or more.

I had Trico wipers on my old explorer, and I was pleased with them.

Yeah tried numerous wiper blades and the Bosch Icon last the longest without skipping on the drivers side. They'll eventually skip after about 6 months. The passenger side never has a problem regardless of brand. Must be the angle or something

OEM. If you have already gotten rid of the actual metal wipers they will be expensive. OEM Toyota wipers are the best I have had so far in my life. I just spent $28 to replace the rubber blades, but my previous pair lasted 18 months. Would have lasted longer if I didn't tear one of the blades by slamming it down while washing the windshield.

Also, highly recommend you clay bar all of your glass windows regularly. Do the windshield every 6 months. A dirty windshield can cause wiper chatter and streaking. Simply cleaning the glass with Windex won't cut it.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Maybe try Sprayway to clean the glass then Green Earth Technologies hydrophobic on the glass. I'm into the 4th year with my blades
