That was my hesitation as well. That's why I tried emailing but was ignored. New ad says they've sold two at the new higher price so I'll keep an eye out on reviews and if they post lower again.

There's one on eBay right now for $209 free ship from a legit seller. Lid has a nice big dent but I'm sure you can call weber once you get it to get a warranty replacement. Their customer service is top notch

there are many folk who really are clueless, some who you would think would know better.

Last year i had hitch carrier on my 4 Runner, 3 20# tanks, stopped at Harbor Freight to buy the big 5 drawer roll cart, and set it on the carrier next to LP tanks. Dude that helped me move it from cart to carrier told me i should have those tanks INSIDE the vehicle for safety.....while proudly displaying his Volunteer FD hat and shirt.... o_O:crazy:

Cooked the Costco choice ribeyes tonight, they passed the taste test. Got a good sear and crust on them.

My new knife, actually carving set, came today Shun Premier.

    Carving set.jpg

Got it for multi use and was looking for a good knife to cut bacon from cured and smoked pork bellies. Put it to use right away today. Picked up 6 lb. eye of round at Costco also to make jerky. Had a lot of fat on the bottom side so at $4.99 a pound cost about the same as my local butcher. Good cut of meat though. The new knife sliced the fat off with precision, no complaints. The dogs have some fat scraps and this baby cuts the quarter inch slices on the jerky cutting board with ease.

Ended up with about 5 pounds which is marinating in the fridge now. Should have got 10 pounds. Will pull in the morning and sit on a rack in the fridge for about 6 hours in the morning. Then smoke it tomorrow.

My concern is that after using it today now I want to replace most of my knives. I used to love my German steel. And for somethings may still be pretty decent. But that Shun OMG. I get it now. Only took me until I was almost 60 LOL. Better late than never I guess.

Price keeps me from full upgrade. But every now and then...

I've been considering getting a nice 6 inch boning/fillet knife, I just added the Shun Classic to my list.

You need to get paid for your foto skills. Just sayin. Composition, lighting, timing always spot on. That's a skill and skills get paid.

Knifes? I'll stick with my 35 year old Chicago Cutlery! Add to that my wife bought me a Work Sharp last year. Me likes!
