It doesn't matter if you are a meter maid. If you break the laws you have sworn to enforce...and you "aren't worried about it" you are a jackass and TOTALLY fulfill the cops are just power abusive jerks stereo type.

I typically go 75-80 in a 65 so long as I'm not the only car on the road. Never had problems and have had cops pass me when I've been doing 15 over. Only ticket I ever got was for 15 over, it was 65 in a 50 and it was easy to pull me over as I was the only person on this road. Was out of state and the fine was only 58 bucks and no points.

My few experiences with cops have always been good so I personally don't have a bad view on them. I was even joking with the cop that pulled me over. I knew I was speeding so there's no reason to be a dick to someone for just doing their job.

    Rain Visors,
80 in a 65 is never needed? drive on the NJ turnpike, youll be killed trying to do 55.

Also, I don't write anyone, I don't sit in a car, Im just saying, that most cops will let you slide, but when you start with the attitude that we are just douche bags....well then you can go f yourself.

I've driven people home ive gotten for DUI so they wouldnt do jail time..

    So don't sit there and say "you're a _____ and you're a _____"

my job is to enforce the law, but if that was the case you'd get a ticket and points for going 56 in a 55, but cops are allowed to use their DISCRESSION.....so along with the power to enforce the law, we are entitled the power not to

Yeah- You are entitled to use discretion. That doesn't mean you get to "not worry about" breaking the law or that you should expect the "brotherhood" courtesy.

Again- I'll say you are the person with the attitude that gives those folks who are anti-authority their justification.

(In FL 1mph over CAN'T get you a ticket-At least for the speeding)

I'm spent 5 years doing federal law enforcement and I'm a commissioned military officer.

You are a cop- You have thick skin. You'll survive my internet opinion.

    Rain Visors,
sure you can, you're breaking the law, It might not go anywhere but you certainly can get cited for it.

What do you do? aside from sit here and argue with people?

    Rain Visors,
actually man, I don't care. Have what ever attitude you want towards the real world. And you're right, i don't worry about getting a ticket. But I don't do anything that anyone else on the road is doing.

    Have a good one

You are right- You can get cited. And in FL the penalty is a warning- With no points/fine. I think you'd be hard pressed to find a cop that is going to waste his time doing the work to issue a paper warning on 1mph over. Specially since they have their discretion.

And I give a lot of good advice to alot of people on the site- and I answered what I do for work above.

I do 80mph on the way to work 5 days a week and have done so for the last decade. The CHP in OC don't really care as long as you’re not driving like an idiot.

Same thing LA / Ventura counties. I average 80mph 5 days a week on the 101 and never have any issues. This is going with the flow of traffic, with people still passing me. There is often a CHP cruiser or a motorcycle sitting on the side w/ a radar too.
