    Kinda off topic but I just realized that the trd grill is actually not completely chrome. The trim ring is but the "mesh" is like a gray color. Is this commonly known?

    It's like a "smoked chrome" or "gunmetal" type chrome. But still too much for me. I think it almost works on a silver or possibly dark gray tacoma, but on anything else, it just seems to be too much. The trend is moving towards blacked out accents. And I've never personally been a fan of chrome. A little I can stomach, but that grille was just too much. I'll spend not a second worrying about chrome tacoma badges on the doors, or accents on the mirrors. But the grille had to go. And the bumper caps will likely go as well.

    Mine is "Black Chrome" and I think they started putting them on the 2017's. Here is mine a member on the west coast gave me.

    Guy from town here bought a 2016 TRD Sport 4X4 and it has the plain chrome grille so it may be Toyota puts both either or with no rhyme or reason in there trucks. :notsure:
