I had checked about a month ago if there were any updates on the transmission software for my 17 off-road. At that time they said no. Today they let me know there is a new update. So it must be new within the last month. Anyone else hear of this?

I beleive they released another TSB revision recently. Not sure if it's the same as what your dealer told you about.

    Any idea what it is?
I know mine has not been updated, but mine is shifting higher and quicker after 1200 miles, that is for sure!

I just got my truck back a week ago, not sure if it got the new tsb or not since the new carrier housing wasnt even listed on parts invoice just seals, gasket and nuts, along with fluid.
    It certainly drives better

Yes...very much so. When I took it in for the 10K service, all I did was mention how I felt the tranny was always searching to find the right gear. The service manager was cool and said they were very familiar with the complaint and would take a look. I got it back a few hours later with the completed service and tranny update. Drove it home and instantly noticed a difference for the better.

Nice that's good to know, I love my taco but that shifting especially if you're not in ECT around town is frustrating at best. None of this was a placebo effect right ;)

Nope, not the placebo effect at all. My service manager remarked that all Toyota dealers across the country are aware and that Toyota is working on the issue...but, owners have to ask and explain. What helps is also having a decent dealer to work with.

how is everyone voicing this to their dealer? scheduling an appointment for "miscellaneous concern"? or just calling service and voicing concerns? or driving in with no scheduled appointment?

This database shows Rev1. I wonder if there is now a rev2. Any Toyota workers in this thread?
