FS URD MAF Calibrator

Selling my urd MAF calibrator. Bought it two years ago and had it mounted for all of a day. I was living in CA and couldn't get anyone to look at the tuning and help it out so I disconnected it and pulled it off the truck. Tired of it sitting on my desk, so it's going up for sale to let someone else try to mess with it. I never received the software fornit when I bought it, so you would probably have to contact urd for any install instructions and technical help.

This one does have the capability for boosted vehicles, and I was told for non-boosted you would just need to plug the vacuum hose.

Thank you. The truck was definitely more responsive on the low end with it hooked up, but the tune that came on it wasn't perfect so it was a little jerky in spots. If I remember correctly, there is a software you can download that will allow you to fine tune it, but no one near where I was in CA would tune it. For $150 it's 5 times cheaper than other options for our trucks and I figure anyone that is willing to mess with the tuning on it, should be pretty happy. I just gave up on it and am waiting to go a more expensive route.

Probably not. I am waiting for results from a new product from ovtune, or I will go mapecu. But both options are $750+. The maf calibrator will be great for someone not willing to spend that much money, and a little bit of time to dial it in.

2011. There is a thread on here for ovtune. It is still in development so there is nothing on their website. Mapecu is just mapecu.com I believe and would require a dyno and tuner to get it right. Same as the ucon basically.

 

I thought the ovtune was for 3rd Gen trucks only?

 

They are finishing up with 3rd gens hopefully soon. Then going to get started on 2nd gens so they say

Been thinking about getting one for my 2015 but I'm N/A.

 

It's $250 for the boosted option which is what this is. It will work with n/a you would just need to cap the vacuum line and have gadget send you a different map to load in it. Make me a fair offer and I'll probably accept it. I just want to get this off my desk

 

Let me really to Gadget before I make any leaps. I want to see what if anything I'll have to pay out to them for maps/updates, etc.

Emailing With Gadget. Left him a voice message because emails back and forth is really slow.

 

Talked with Gadget. He's telling me i cam download the software free and they cam indeed send me a tune.

However, the new one is plug and play (no splicing) so I can self install. I'm thinking that's worth paying for in my case. Otherwise I'm gonna end up paying someone else to do it.

 

The install really isn't that bad, but if you have never done wiring before, yes it can be scary.

And Gadget says there's really no hardware difference with your unit from 2015 and the current one. For me though the plug and play makes the most sense. Pop the hood. Plug it in. Secure it to something. Tune.
