    That is pretty cool, maybe McMaster Carr is all a 2nd gen'er needs. I see this working for crawling, but running at speed in it's 'extended' mode, I can't imagine it lasting long.

    How about 2 small hydraulic cylinders, for sway bar links, with 2 lines connecting the 2 cylinders together. Put valves in the lines. Close the valves for street use. Open the valves for off road.

    Is that how the OEM setups on Jeeps work? Would allow you to have an in-cabin switch to actuate it on/off which would be nice.

    They use some sort of electronic coupler that actually splits the sway bar in half. Not very practical for us as it's not very economical. The rubicon is $$$$

    I think I saw on here somewhere that the middle of the Taco sway bar is not in line with the sway bar bushings. It drops down in the middle. This makes a center disconnect not really feasible. If it was disconnected, it wouldn't pivot right.

    These are the links that a member WAS producing for 4th, 5th gen 4runners and fjs. You must run the sway bar relocation kit and secure the sway bar up when disconnected.
