Tried in suspension section but seems to be no replies so try it here

So I'm doing a fox 2.5 extended travel remote reservoir with damping adjustment coilovers in the front (likely going to set to 2inch lift maybe 2.5)
    Total Chaos UCA
    ECGS bushing

    in the rear
    Dakar medium load leaf pack
fox 2.5 remote reservoir shocks with damping adjustment
    extended brake lines
    spring bushings
    u bolts
    carrier bearing drop

Basically the full fox kit with dakars from headstrong
    http://www.headstrongoffroad.com/st...Kit_w/_OME_Dakar_Leaf_Packs_-_05__Tacoma.html

I do take it off road and will likely be adding 285s after lift (I know I'll likely need to do CMC).

From what I gather there's not much more I can do up front
but what else can I add to this to take advantage of it in the rear, and also not cause damage?
Do I need to upgrade bumpstops? Would the U bolt shackle flip be better here or just the OME U bolt is fine?

Also is there a sway bar relocate part I need or what? I read somewhere on here that I'll need a relocate. I don't recall seeing anything in the box of front coils that would be a relocate bracket.
Figure I've spent enough on all this may as well do what I need to do to get the most out of it.

The reservoir mounts normally double as sway bar relocates. That's how King does it anyway.

Shackle flip or u-bolt flip kit? Different things. You might as well do the u-bolt flip kit while you're at it to gain more clearance.

IMG_4652.jpg I did the same kit from head strong last month but with the 2.0 rear shocks with adjusters. It came with the sway bar relocate brackets. also did wheelers super bumpstops front and rear as well as cmc and ecgs bushing. Rides awesome on and off road. I did the u. Bolt flip option with the super bumps but if your not off roading than its not needed.

This is with 265/70/17s. Have 285s now. I think it has settled a bit IMG_4627.jpg

The flip kit does just that. Reverses the way the u-bolts are stacked and puts the threads pointing up so they don't drag. It also gives you an easy way to upgrade the rear bump stops, which I also advise you do.

Someone may be able to explain a shackle flip better than I can but it drops the rear leaf bracket down to give you more lift. Problem is that is also gives the leads more negative arch st resting position. I'm not a fan but that's my opinion.

What is the ECGS bushing in the front for?

ECGS (east coast gear supply) manufactures a bushing that replaces the POS OEM needle bearing on the drivers side CV axle that sits inside the front diff. See links in my sig block for more details if desired.

I'll have to double check the box that mine has it. I've been piecing it together for a few months now. Haven't looked at them in a while

I'll have to look into the u bolt flip then and bump stops

@allpro makes a nice kit that comes with everything if you want. Nice and beefy compared to stock. Idk of another one honestly.

U-bolts face up instead of down, so you dont have them dragging on the rocks/dirt.

    Stock shackle

See how the bushing that's connected to the the leaf spring is on top?

This adds more rear ride height and more droop/flex. As others have said you do have more negative arch on your leaf pack (you can see in this photo the leaf springs are basically flat), but I think that's generally with just stock leafs. Aftermarket leaf packs or a progressive leafs wouldn't have an issue. Also, I've been told that your rear can feel more floaty on-road. Which is why Toyota inverted it on the 2nd gens + to help on road feel.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/the-story-behind-my-bent-frame-and-broken-coilovers.504957/

Little different of a situation, but guy hit a bump at a little speed with a fair amount of weight and bent his frame. Running a Dakar leaf pack and shackle flip. They are saying the cause was lack of up travel from the shackle flip and extended bumps. The shock had very little room to do it's job with the impact.

Again, it's going to vary per person and there are a ton of opinions out there. I personally am not doing it to my truck. Do what you will to achieve your desired outcome.

"But you get a ton of droop bro."

It honestly looks so unnatural I'm not surprised something bad happened.

I don't think the shackle flip had anything to do with all of his suspension breaking and frame being bent....being fully loaded with 3 dudes and ton of gear going off a jump doing 35 will do that.

Also, high speed desert stuff/doing jumps is on the very bottom of my priorities. I do slow technical trails around here, very little chance of gaining any air liek that lol.

Yeah, wasn't a clean jump and he had ton of extra weight. Dude broke his coilovers up front too, which have nothing to do with the shackles as well.

Definitely not disagreeing with the jump being un-natural and like I said, everyone has different needs to fill.

He did break his coil overs, but that is apparently a know. Issue with the design of Icon shocks.

I wouldn't want any more lift in the rear. It already has some rake with the light duty dakars and I don't want to preload the front coil overs to much. Currently have around 19/20threads showing on the passenger side and 22/23 on driver side.

i'm not after lift as much as I am getting the most of the capability out of what I have.
Basically don't care for 3 inches of lift etc, but care for wheel travel capability when off road.

So shackle flip is out, going to look into the U bolt flip
And I'm not doing any desert running, just crawling on trails.

Is upgraded bump stops even needed though? Would upgraded ones not limit wheel travel?
