    Yep it was the northern lights! How bright and how long they last depends on the strength of the solar storm and how far north you are. That night, it lasted for about 10 minutes. In a place like Iceland or the NW Territories, probably all night.

    Thank you for the tip brotha!!! :thumbsup::fistbump::cheers:

    My sister and I were just recently talking about going back to take our mom and visit our aunt. We were talking about renting a car, but I'd still rather take my own car, but it has me 2nd guessing when it comes to the mountains. That poor car was hauling weight in the trunk and, literally, half of the back seat to the ceiling!!! :eek::goingcrazy::facepalm: Just glad we didn't have shi* strapped to the roof as well!!! :annoyed::facepalm: LMAO!!! :laughing::laugh::rofl:
    WOMEN BRO!!! o_O:annoyed::crazy::facepalm:

    Btw, we were temp holed up in a Days Inn in Golden near Honda World and I took my car to a Pep Boys in Littleton to get the tranny fluid checked and changed. The guy at HW was a F'N A$$HAT!!! o_O F'nut had one of his techs hook-up a code reader and told me, "I just did you a favor... that costs $100 what I just did..."? I ALLLLMOST opened my mouth and told the F'er, "dude, your code reader can be bought for about $45 and mine is about $400!!! o_O LMAO!!! :laughing::laugh::rofl: But, I was "the better man" and just kept my mouth shut. :thumbsup: The guys at Pep Boys was cool as shi* though!!! :thumbsup::fistbump:

    You don't have to be a "tree hugger" to appreciate the natural beauty of the area. In fact I'm pretty sure that's one of the biggest appeals for a lot of us who love to explore off road.

    And if that natural beauty isn't protected with rules and regulations, then it often turns into yet another torn up place.

    I've seen it happen 100s of times in Colorado

    I gotta disagree... the more people that see this, the less chance someone is going to repeat this behavior hopefully.

    Edit: Its also not like down here in TX, up there it takes years for those tracks he made to heal up, there are signs in that area about it

    Well if there are signs telling you to stay on the damn trail then there is no excuse. He had to know then, and he said fuck everybody else... that shit pushes my buttons and so i retract my previous statement!

    There are some signs up there than even specifically give you information about the Alpine Tundra and how delicate it is, usually near high altitude meadows....

    Am I the only one who thinks this passive aggressive shit of internet shaming is pathetic? And not only that but now we have a huge thread and I've seen this elsewhere too so we've drawn a ton of attention to it and I know outside groups are seeing it. Maybe that could be a good thing but... lots of negative attention from groups that dont care if we police ourselves, they're not thinking oh look at the backlash this guys getting from within his community. They're thinking we need to ban offroading so this can't happen.

    Idk maybe its just me but I'd have gone and talked to the guy first.

    Look for one at the top of Cinnamon Pass and Engineer Pass for sure. I think both are just below the Pass on the Western side.

    This is my thoughts on the situation. Yes, he messed up. Yes he should be held accountable somehow(make him drive a prius for the rest of his life). Viral threads on the internet drag people that otherwise wouldn't know or care about something into something they all of a sudden have some sort of passion over, and vote/protest accordingly.

    That is my opinion, it's free.

    So this sign says that you can not drive a vehicle on this pass, however, what bike, snowmobile, or horse has high clearance and 4 wheel drive?? Also the Facebook post is talking about driving on Black Bear Pass

    The pass is the road, the sign restricts off-road travel
