For the Tacticool guys, wanted to see what your setup is in your trucks with pew pews :laser:and gear using Molle system and Velcro.

These are my ideas for the Molle mounting to what ever surface I decide to use in the cap. I've seen guys mount to the headliner, under the rear seat and behind the rear seat.
    http://www.industrialwebbing.com/velcro-brand-veltex-loop-fabric/

I'd sew that on the back of the Molle and was thinking about using this from Amazon.

If I ever feel the need to carry my AR-15 locked and loaded in my truck with me, it'll be sitting in my lap on my way to fuck shit up. I don't see any other scenario where I'd be keeping a loaded assault rifle in my truck with me. People are weird though.

I alway take my shit with me when off-road and camping on fed land. Might as well look cool while doing it. And doesn't have to be locked and loaded.

An uncharged weapon is a useless weapon. #chamberalltherounds

If I'm in a scenario where I need to use my handgun you're damned right I want something with a much higher lethality capability. "Walk softly and carry a big stick"
Just an FYI unless you have a tax stamp for a pre-1986 machine gun, you wouldn't have an assault rifle.

Okay so if you want to get anal about it then I meant to say my AR-15? I go shooting every weekend, have plenty of firearms in the house. I'm cool with guns. I'm just not paranoid enough to carry a rifle around with me at all times. My 9mm makes me feel safe enough in my daily situations.

In my state it is illegal to have a loaded rifle/shotgun in a vehicle even with a conceal license. It is not illegal to have a loaded magazine right next to said rifle though.

Read your state/city laws has always been my advice

11 posts in, and no one has shown an actual tactical setup as the OP requested. Is that because there isn't such thing?

I enjoy guns, mostly targets and own a few. However, I never carry or let alone have one in daily my truck - just me.

I can understand that 100%. I don't keep a rifle or shotgun in my vehicle for everyday situations due to possibility of theft BUT if I'm in the back country or the woods, I want a long gun in there. Just like having a gun in the first place, I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. ;)

Indubitably, that is the number one thing someone should be doing before taking firearms out and about while inside your vehicle.

I carry my G19 on my person every day so its in the truck. Its a fantasy to think you "need" a rifle in your vehicle unless you're deep in the woods. There are very few real problems that require a rifle to solve in a normal joes' day.

I mean no disrespect and I'm not trying to change your mind. With that said, think about it like this...

What if you were out to Dinner with your wife in Dallas (where you live) a couple of years ago when those guys were shooting cops from rooftops during the Black Lives Matter march and that whole situation erupted into riots, looting, and a general every-man-for himself scenario? Personally, I'd want every tool I could muster to make damn sure my wife and I got home safely.

Is it unlikely that I'll ever need that kind of firepower? Absolutely. Is it certain that I'll never need it? Not in the world we live in.

We should all protect ourselves and our families however we see fit. That solution will vary from person to person.

Lol... I'll never understand this movement. Maybe a MOLLE panel that you have vehicle recovery items and basic med kit.

You aren't rolling low vis in a war torn country. Just throw the rifle in with the rest of the gear. Concealed handgun in the door pocket.
