    Afternoon Everyone !!

Was eating lunch about an hour ago when a Vietnam era Marine saw me and we started talking . We had a fun time talking about the Marines then just before he had to leave he handed me this two sided laminated card

    0815171403.jpg

And when I got home I decided to clean this !! , also surprised that the last time I cleaned it which over 8 months ago it is still coated in Rem Oil and no signs of flash rusting anywhere . I thought I was going to be disappointed with a dry rifle !!!

    0815171419.jpg

I'm going to clean and relube using this

    Afternoon everyone.

    SITREP:
A nut and bolt in every hole in the roof of the machine shed; it actually looks like a roof now instead of a seine. Next work day on it we'll put the back wall in. After that we have to go over EVERY nut and bolt and torque them, then it'll be complete until next year.

Had a great Alaskan poor man's surf and turf with Mitch, Meghen, and her Dad Terry; mooseburgers and beer batter halibut. Wonderful meal made 10x better by the company. :)

Then spent from a little before midnight until about 7AM this morning, helping Randy and Matt with one of Randy's previous "neighbors."
    IMG_1153.jpg
Matt's wife Jen took him about 10:45PM last night in Randy's yard with her bow. Legal 3 brow tine bull; measured 39".

Fully dressed out and quarters hanging in Randy's garage to be processed this weekend.

Velvet, like on a deer antler when they grow in. They lose the velvet later on.

    SitRep ....

AR is cleaned and ready for inspection , this Lucas Oil Gun Oil is thick almost like wiping your rifle down with 80-90 gear oil and sticks to every part it is applied to . I could definitely tell when I cleaned the bolt assy especially the gas rings . The bolt assy seems to move easier with less resistance . even wiping down the buffer spring and buffer assy this also seems to work better

This is what I used and its comparable to Frog lube

The other side is a little scraped off when the deer hit the pavement.

Yep, 1 week bow season started on the 10th ... early season, still have their velvet.

Hiya Scooter, he should be...nice healthy animal.

Yep, feels just like velvet, not plush because it's relatively thin over the antler, but fuzzy just like velvet.

It was a good day and night ... lot of work the last part, but worth it.

Looking for sheds has become very popular in the last few years.
There's lots of dogs that specialize in finding sheds too.
Sort of a race against time. The sheds don't stay nice all that long as they are a source of minerals and get chewed up pretty good by rodents.
