I have to ask, how can a white truck fade? And to what color? Clear? :notsure: :bananadead:

I've had annoying vibration issues. Not sure those will ever be recognized by Toyota or resolved.

Sure it's a source as far as being a place for consumers to voice their experience with a product.

Now if you pulled some shit from a Chevy fan forum I'd expect it to be less credible but these are actual people, with actual Tacomas experiencing actual issues. So.......

Have you looked at Chevy facebook ? This is ridiculous. Chevy facebook is less credible ??? Come on man. Whats the point ? Your logic and references are flawed.

We aren't talking about Chevy here. We are talking about 3rd gen tacomas.

In 2005 this same "dependability study" ranked the Chevy S10 as #1, followed by the GMC Sonoma, and the Tacoma was 3rd place.

I ask you today, do you see more 2005 Tacoma's or S10s running around?? Do you think a 2005 S10 is overall more reliable than 2nd gen tacomas???

OP's question is in regards to the future reliability of this truck. We don't really know too much on how reliable it will actually be so all we have to work from is current and past experience with this generation. I'm pulling from major review sources, customer feedback, etc from a variety of sources.

I didn't pull the Tacoma feedback from a Chevy forum, which is my point. The data is not skewed from that perspective. These are not Chevy Enthusiasts trashing Tacomas on the Toyota Corporate Facebook "site" they are actual Toyota Owners. You took my comment out of context.

I think the 3rd GEN Tacoma is a far more reliable truck than any mid size or Domestic made truck with out question. I wont need FACEBOOK to verify that just the people I know who own them tell me so, and they are quite reliable sources as opposed to FACEBOOK posters.

I had a 2001 Camry (bought new) that was white. It did, in fact, fade after 10 or so years. By the way, that was a great sedan...owned it for 13 total years and got over 300,000 trouble free miles on it. I could live with a bit of fading after 10+ years given the cheap cost of ownership (i.e. only oil changes, brakes, tires, normal maintenance items.)

My brothers 2008 Tacoma he had to sell because the imbolizer shut down his truck
every month for no reason and Toyota could not find or fix the problem, he spend 4000 replacing the ECU, Keys, antenna, etc and nothing fixed the problem, he had to cut his looses at 72,000 miles

How do you go backwards it technology really? I mean there may be some flaws, every truck has them, but you can't put out such a great product for decades and then just build junk.

I've driven Chevy my whole life and never really had too many problems, but this Toyota truck is just awesome and exciting.

Different thread, same complainers. Overall, the Toyota Tacoma 3rd Gen is very reliable as were the previous generations when you consider the other vehicles on the road. You can't expect to go to a forum for a particular vehicle and NOT come across people who have issues; this same thing happens on CivicX and I own a 2017 Honda Civic and you would think it was the worst vehicle on the road if you listened to some people on there. Go to any Ford, Chevy, Subaru, etc. forum and you will have complainers. Yes, some people here have had issues with the vehicle and can only speak on their own experiences. For the VAST MAJORITY, the Tacoma was and will continue to be one of the best buys until otherwise and a few VERY vocal people on this forum aren't gonna change that.
