It was the title to my bike and my other truck, not my tacos. Which had already been moved.

Still. I keep all my vehicle titles in a safe along with other important paperwork.

Anyway, I hope the security camera footage is helpful.

Thieves now have a "black box" that can be used to get into locked vehicles:

    Glad I have manual locks!

This is what happens when manufacturers create cars that are basically I-Phones with wheels.

Sorry for your loss. This is exactly why I have manual locks and roll up windows. Fook all the electronic hack-able stuff on cars these days.(End of rant)

Someone took a gun out of my F-150 last month. My wife and I were running errands and I took mine off to go into the post office. We ate lunch out before returning home. I reached for my gun to take it inside and it wasn't there. Called 911 to report and they had an investigator call me back. I have no doubt the truck was locked.

They have a guy on video walking up to my drivers door, opening it, reaching in and getting my gun out. He opened the passenger door and looked around. They have a vague description of the guy and his car but no plate number.

If I understand this right they can only do this if you hit the key fob to lock the door. Someone nearby can steal the radio frequency and clone another remote to open your door. If you lock the doors manually and only use the key fob to unlock the door they can't do this.

Don't know on this, but I would think it might work both ways - if you use the fob to lock or to unlock.

That's some sneaky stuff right there.
I used to do home security system installs 10 years ago and the company had a key fob to arm and disarm your home alarm. Eerie to think they could use the same concept on a home...

I had been thinking about this recently. With the prices of any used pickup truck almost insane, I thought an old-fashioned kill switch might be in order. I know this won't stop break-ins, but maybe keep someone from steeling the whole truck? A useless idea or no...?

I like the idea. I will probably put one in once my truck is out of warranty. Cheap and effective.

I had one installed years ago in a Jetta gli. It was easy to use and you can hide it anywhere.

When I'm forced to go with a 3rd/4th gen, I'm hoping that I can remove a fuse to disable the electric locks, and rely on using the locks manually.
