Are you third row? I was saying if mounted on top I can see it coming over them in an impact.

so my passenger seat is being destroyed. a nice small tear on the bolster seam and then now the center seam across the bottom is beginning to tear. I might just have to buy a new cover from ebay.

For those of you with Tepuis, or any roof top tent really...

I am looking at getting either the Autana or Kukenam tents. Both in the ruggedized versions. I am leaning towards the Autana because I do a lot of winter camping and I think the annex would be better for that. Any opinions?

    Thanks in advance.

Annex is a pain in the ass unless you have a trailer or are setting up camp for days.

So true. Even with the trailer I won't set up the annex unless it's at min two nights or it's really necessary for what ever reason.

Thoughts on this bronze for my FJ TRD wheels on my 4runner? Not great lighting but I'm kind of digging it. Going to try a full wheel this weekend.

Also what would cause my 4wd to not work (or at least light to not come on) with the manual J shift? Thought it was all mechanical and not electronic. Unless my ADD isn't working.

I don't think so, it gets into a lower gear when I go into low, but no chirping of the tires or binding like I've experienced in the past with my old 4runner. Might try to put it on jack stands to see if the front tires spin.

Hmm that is odd. I'd be curious as well to see if the front wheels are getting power. What year 4runner is this on?

99 SR5 (highlander) so it has the manual J shift with no electronics associated with it. Will try the jack stands this weekend when I get a chance.

I've only dealt with the 99-00 Limited Multi-Mode and it's pretty apparent if it's not working.

Thanks for the info. How about that "hood" over the ladder is it a pain when the annex isn't set up? At this point I am looking at hood or no hood.

Could be a vacuum leak. There is a vacuum acuator in the front diff that actually engages the front drivetrain. Not a true manual system.

The hood over the ladder is nothing extra really and kinda nice to have imo. In the rain it protects you a bit and gives you a bit of shade in the sun. Only downfall is you get no view out the window.

Negative. Considering one when and if work affords me one, but the Raptor Ranger may be a better fit.

I have to fix up some of the damage incurred from Baja before I do anything. That's next steps. Baja was...interesting.

Stuff I thought would break did not, stuff I thought wouldn't break failed.

@willhaman21 was having issues with his Manual J shift runner a few months ago.

Took him forever to figure out what it was, maybe he can chime in.
