Gander Mt now has fly line 70% off. Scooped up a roll of SA Mastery Trout WF4W for 22$.

    I picked up a buncha magazines for my M&P 9c for 12$ a pop.

Theyre open for another week, gonna go back again next Monday and hope the fly lines 80% off and mags are 5$ a pop and buy a buncha other stuff I dont need.

We have one gander left. I bought a bunch of the fishing gear which shall not be mentioned....... no fly fishing stuff except generic outfits. I may look at another Redington and and a gasp...spincast setup. They must have had 500 of the same two combos that were apparently gander exclusive. I also grabbed a t shirt. I could have walked out with a hi point pistol for less than 100 bucks too

Just ordered a fly reel and shopping for a rod now... I'm pretty excited as I haven't fly fished in over 8 years!

Well I did not expect to find a fly fishing section on here.. seems like a lot inland fishing and not so much coastal. Not knocking the trout fishing by any means, never fished a stream before.. I will one day though.. until then I will be happy on the Florida flats.

Im in central florida.. been about 10 years since i got a chance to catch bone fish.. havent got a permit on fly yet, still working on that... mostly snook, red fish, trout, and tarpon.. heres a 31" snook from early this year, had to bail out of the boat and almost go under water to keep from being broke off in mangroves..

Scott. Purely on the fact I can't get my head around the color of the Sage.

Without casting them both, I don't have a dog in this hunt.

Yes, not too fond of the color either... I'm sure they are both great rods.

I posted a few pages back about how great the Cabela's Prestige fly rods cast. I compared it to my Clearwater in the same weight. The price was sub $100 and the warranty is much, much better than the Orvis rod. I'm gonna pick up a few in various weights.

    Welcome.

Fish what ya got! I'm 400 miles from the coast and 50 miles from my favorite trout streams. I'd love to chase redfish and sea trout and bone fish. One day...

When ya do decide to chase some trout in a mountain stream, come to PA. It's hard to beat what we got here

Not sure about the warranty on those rods, but I can attest to how nice it is to have a life time no fault warranty. Most of my rods are TFO and love them. I do have a SAGE that I picked up used that is nice though. Really you rod choice should be made after casting a few rods. Having the right line for the rod will make a huge difference too. Sounds like you will be using heavy sinking lines if your going for steal head. Take a look at the TFO rods, they just introduced one that would be good for steal head and thats what they use it for. Think its called the TFR.

Before I drive that far in search of trout I will probably stop at some spots in GA. Not that I wouldnt mind fishing other states, just closer to me.
