FYI, US Cargo Control, a cheap place to get recovery straps and accessories, is now offering free shipping for orders over $199 and have reduced their shipping fees for lessor orders. This is the place Frank and I got our 4"x30' straps. They also have tree-savers as well as a selection of other size/length/strength recovery straps. They are way cheaper than buying ARB (for example) gear.

Just wanted to put this out there if anyone is looking for a cheap alternative if you don't have a recovery strap because of the sticker shock you might have seen with "name brands" or things like Bubba Ropes.

At first I just bought some harbor freight straps but during black Friday 4 wheel parts had a great deal on smitty built straps and shackles.

 

If you're talking about that thing that looks like a scrunchii, yeah, you need to get a regular strap. Thorny Mike had one of those and it broke the second time he used it.

Here's a comparison with the US Cargo Control 4" strap vs the ARBs at 4WP...

I'll admit the ARBs are prettier, but you definitely get more bang for you're buck with the USCC strap.

Oh, and I'm not sure how big a discount you got on the shackles, but the 3/4 zinc plated Smitty Built shackle at 4WP lists at $13 where as the equivalent 3/4 shackle at USCC lists at $7. Both have the same load specs.

 

Looking for a belly skid plate (from the rack back) for a 1st gen 2004 DC 4X4. Apparently my last one is on the road somewhere between Palm Bay and Indian Harbour Beach. I knew I should have checked those bolts after it went in the shop....
Suggestions?

I pretty sure those are stainless steel. Check with Pasco Iron & Metal if no one on the forum needs it. You can get some cash out of it.

Before I start buying a new grill would any one even be interested in this one? Color of the truck doesn't make a difference, see his install page mesh only and hardware to install just, in great shape, I would probable ask around 170$
