Imagine how bad Adaptive Cruise Control will be in a 2018 Third Gen...

The truck will sync into the cell phone in the car ahead of you and base your speed off that. The more the driver in front uses their phone, the more your truck will slow down.

 

I have been thinking about how the Safety Sense stuff would work on a Manual transmission too, if it jams on the Brake without the Clutch being pushed in then it can stall out.

 

I have a Volkswagen Golf (in the UK). It's heart-thumping when the car just stops out of nowhere.

 

Show me how it shifts differently now please

I liked the adaptive cruise control on my 2015 Honda CRV. It was fully loaded with all those safety features but that was the only one I liked or even used. But I traded that vehicle in for my Tacoma. The Tacoma just fits my style and needs far better that I was completely fine with losing all those safety and technologically advanced features missing from the Tacoma.

 

In 2 1/2 years and 28K miles on our 15 Subaru OB -we have never had a false braking. Oh, and BTW, Toyota owns 16% of Subaru --I'm guessing they share some of their technology!?

 

It sucks. We have it in our QX80, it's so subtle that on road trips I'll get behind some dude doing 60 in a 75, the cc takes over and I don't know the difference. It's hard to un train the brain to your relevant distance from a vehicle vs your set speed, which is now on remote control.

 

I think your "problem" could be solved by actually looking down at your speedometer ever so often to to see how fast you are going!!??

 

Haha prolly be about as bad as my first gen CC with 3.58 gears, 4cyl, and 32s.

 

Seems like neat tech. But I hope it surfaces as a premium tech option, and not standard.

The options in this poll are spot on. I absolutely hate this 3.5L and hate hate hate this transmission. I don't complain about the truck because it is a very capable vehicle, but I cannot wait to get rid of it when the lease is up.

"Unimaginable Cruelty" was the only option I could agree with.

 

Well if you have crawl control the thing will already brake and accelerate for you off-road so i guess lane departure is the next step

 

Toyota's Safety Sense removes drivers Common Sense. I was going to wait for the 2018, but just bought the 2017 cuz it doesn't have it. Not to mention, more technology.. more problems.
