    This can happen for sure!

    Always happy to help out.

Since my friend who has the lift and large garage isn't that cool this week to let me use his space earlier than Friday, not the lift even, I guess I'm investigating my front shocks in my driveway. I feel like it's gotten worse the last 2 days. I need to get in there and do something for peace of mind. Just prefer it not done on gravel, sloped.

I would like them before Rush, and I like working on your truck. Inspires me!
Might have been a time or two when I could've used the proper bumps this weekend. Drove a little faster than normal (cuz new shocks) until I realized my coil was wonky

    You would say that!

I should've said, "We moved faster than any other time wheeling because there were only 2 trucks and I only had to be recovered once"

The boots taper a bit and so at the top of the boot the ID is not far off from the OD of the shock body. That said if the shocks have any type of build up on them (i.e. mud) this could make it so the boot gets tight on the shock during up travel and then on down travel the boot could pull off the spacer. The boots typically stay on pretty good regardless, but they can easily be pulled off the spacer since its only these little tabs that catch the groove on the spacer (see attached photo). Now this may or may not be how yours came off, but we have seen this before in the past. Some people are able to shove the boot up so it snaps back into place, but not everything is successful doing it this way. If you choose to just pull the boots off you will need to keep the spacer installed in order to complete the assembly correctly (why we always install the boots). Without the spacers in place the top bushing will not get compressed properly which can allow the entire shock to move up and down when cycled.

    You're so smart!

So, basically, I can try to shove to boot back onto the little spacer and it might hold, or might not. Easy enough!
    Thank you!

    Fixed it!!

I first tried to just use compressors on the coil with the tire off. UCA was in the way, not gonna work with stockers anyway.

So then...I disco the two lca spindle bolts, with support on the lca. Disco top shock bolt. Compressors on the coil. Drop lca and the coil is free. Move that punk where it belongs, release compressors. Voila!!!

Kinda a half ass "weight of the truck" method

Is there any differences in the stock rear bumpers from 05-11 and 12-15?

Listed my junk on CL and dude thinks there's a difference . Tried to tell em 'no', that it's the front end only

Good deal. Sounds like I'm gonna sell a bumper then!

Pretty sad that it's gotten more interest over a local CL add than on here. More people are "going back to stock" than you think.
