I had a 2' that I would use for my breaker bar. It worked well the few times I needed it.

True that, at the same time, studying at the library till 7 don't help the schedule either. Did your kid wreck anyone last night?

High clearance rear bumper with swingout. Which one should I get?

Leaning towards Pelfreybilt because I have their front bumper: it fit well and I'm happy with it. But shipping from CA sucks and I'm not married to the brand.

I like Bruteforcefab. Its a little bit of a pain to get in touch with Billy, but worth it. I also like that you can pay half now, and half when its completed

Have you looked at SOS? East coast so shipping is much cheaper.

I don't think their rear bumper has a swing out. I don't think it is high clearance either.

also, their sliders didnt seem as strong as Mobtown's.. as a comparison, and IMO

I have seen their bumpers. They don't advertise a price for but do have pictures of rear swingouts on their bumpers.

I don't like the bumpers that use that style hinge. Mobtown does it that way also. I prefer the spindle/bearing mounted carriers like the brute force @fatfurious2 has or the pelfreybilt bumpers.

The design is, in my opinion, stronger. Secondly the swingout and hinge stay inboard of the rear bumper with the spindle mount so if you back the rear corner of the truck into something you aren't hitting the hinge first. I could see me backing into a tree at night in a campground, nearly did it this past weekend. I'd rather the steel bumper hit it first, not my tire carrier.

Source for that? I know SOS does indeed make a high clearance rear...but don't know if he has tried to make a swing out.

source is @boogie3478 sliders vs mine. The installation for mine, was much more comprehensive than his. His had no instructions and no C clamps to the frame. After installing mine, I see now that @Mobtown Offroad has definitely over-engineered their to be the strongest. I am not sure about other companies, but from those 2 comparisons, I am glad I went with Mobtown.

@CaliDevilDoc has Pelfrey sliders. I am not sure if they are bolt on or weld on.

SOS rear with swingout. See how hinge is the furthest protruding item on rear corner?

Brute force rear w/ swingout. I prefer the inboard mounting of the tire carrier at the corner.

Not to jump in and say you're wrong BUT the reason we do the pinion the way we do for the swingout is for good reason.

We voted against the style that Brute Force used because it's a single shear design. You have a huge moment arm with a lot of forces and stress on the pinion. All those forces are on the bottom of the pinion. We've seen them fail. So we do our style which is a dual sheer design. You're not going to break or flex it. Overall it's a better, stronger style. A lot of vendors use the same style that Brute Force uses but we just don't care for it.

Yeah it's not the full high clearance through to the rear fender, but they do offer a swing out.
