    No, a water meth kit is not a supplement for a maxed out fuel pump. It's for when you want to run a hot fuel with a high compression ratio. Raises the knock threshold

    If changing the pump only takes 1 1/2 hrs then ill just do that but i suspect on mine it might take longer

    I didn't pull the entire bed off, I just unbolted the driver's side, loosened the passenger side, and just lifted the drivers side enough to put a jack stand in there to hold it up ( also take off your gas cap so it doesn't break off). From there it was just remove the pump assembly, swap the pump, and reassemble. The part that takes the longest is shortening the hard line to fit the taller aftermarket pump.

    It can be... The extra fuel is only to keep chamber temps down, it doesn't get burned. If you run water/meth, you can theoretically run higher AFR's. If you don't need the extra fuel for 11's AFR, you may be able to get away with a smaller pump and injectors.

    Knock comes from heat. You put extra fuel into the chamber to absorb that extra heat; it doesn't burn, it just prevents knocking by keeping temps down. Its not very efficient but easy considering the options.

    Meth/water does exactly the same thing but more efficiently; water absorbs a ton more heat than fuel and is a much better knock inhibitor. You can easily run at 14.7 AFR if you have a properly tuned and capable water meth kit.

    Yes. Everything you said is correct. All of those things, are considered when figuring out the Knock threshold.

    That guy on here with the half million mile has his s/c 3.4 running 9psi with meth spraying over 5psi. He said his AFR is perfect

    While I would be the last person to advise it, you CAN run increased boost that surpasses your fuel system capability (as long as you can maintain at least 14.7 AFR) if you supplement with water/meth.

    Something to keep in mind; while water/meth generally are used to allowed increased boost, advanced timing, etc... you can also use it to raise AFR's and waist less fuel. Any AFR under 14.7 means your shooting unburnt fuel out of your tail pipes.

    Why run a bandaid when it can be engineered right.

    A pump is more for growth, but also nothing to have to continually monitor. Add gas, and go. Not "go" but forgot to refill the meth. Oops...

    Don't forget reduced knock potential, so that timing can be advanced a lot more.

    I spent the morning doing air leak chasing and found that when I put 10psi of air through the system It leaks out through the PCV valve a lot . Is that normal :eek:
