18" WSM with 14" pizza screens. Cut some red oak 1" rods 1" long on the Bosch compound miter saw to use as spacers. Have some 1.5" long I cut also to use for fish for when I finally find a second WSM. Season with peanut oil then coat again, smoke and put on the gasser to burn off any sticky bits. Works well. Crappy night time cell phone picture but can get an idea from this. Can get close to 10 pounds of jerky on them.

You can do a whole turkey on a 22" Weber. You need to be able to keep the coals to the sides and the bird in the middle, but it can be done. Turkeys need to cook at a little higher temp anyways, so no harm done.

BUT....are you saying that Smokey Joe's are $7? I need the hardware from a few for some keg smokers I'm building.

I absolutely love your jerky setup. That is something I need to seriously consider.

speaking of Cutco, I'd never heard of them until a family member gifted us a bunch of them as a wedding gift. I was like ohhh more knives! then I looked them up and was like ohhhh more insurance needed...

Ya they are freakin expensive. Now I know he gets free lifetime sharpening and such (just sends the to them and gets them back all sharp) but holy moly when he showed me the catalog one time I was like I need to take out a second mortgage to get a whole set lol.

You still going to make it to Hermit? We can sit down and I can tell you of my woes about turkey. I am hoping I got all the bugs worked out this year as we might be going to the Thanksgiving teardrop gathering in Unionville, Nevada.

IIRC the Jumbo Joe sold at Walmart is not as deep as the Weber 22" regular grill. In fact just checked and the Slow N Sear does not fit it. Not that it is a show stopper I almost never use my Slow N Sear. But I do use the rotisserie for turkey on a regular basis. I use charcoal baskets on either side of the bird and some wood chips when starting out. Perfect turkey every time.

Meat on a stick always taste good though!

Olean, NY which is in Western NY on the Pa. border. There are ruff grouse in those hills around there. One of my sisters married into a family where one of them works there and can get them all good deals on Cutco knives. And all 3 of them have been gifted full sets. Think I am the only one that doesn't own any LOL.

They also now own KaBar as in the US Military Fighting knife. I'd take one of those...

Thank you it turned out extremely well this time. Pretty basic pepper and soy seasoning. Trying to cut out the sugars in it. In fact one of the reasons started making my own is the packaged stuff has a lot of sugar in it.

I did not know they owned KaBar. I have one of those sitting on my desk in the other room. Sweet knife.

The original KaBar was made in Camillus, NY I've had many pocket knifes over the years with Camillus, NY stamped on them. Most of my larger and folding knives were from Bradford, Pa. Think Case knives and Zippo lighters are about all that is in Bradford. Not exactly a lot in Olean, NY either except a college. And Cutco.

Son of a bitch. I checked SlickDeals, then Brick Seeker and, sure enough, 22" Originals for $25, 22" Premiums for $35, and 14" Smokey Joes for $7. Unbelievable!

What is believable, though, is that I was late to the party once again. Here are some links if the others want to try their luck. I'd buy 2 of everything at those prices. Frankly, I'd buy every Smokey Joe I could get my hands on at $7. Mini-WSMs, travel grills, spare parts, etc. Crazy good deal.

Still shows $35 at a few places out of stock when I search, but, yeah, for the most part they're showing a little higher. I swear, though!!!
