Mbrp 209$ shipped! Or should I just spend the extra cash to buy a higher end system? Magnaflow, flowmaster ext.. Just trying to get a little bit more of a aggressive sound, nothing to loud.

You could just go the route I went and just replace the muffler, 2.5 in 2.5 out. I have the Magnaflow 18" installed and it sounds great at about 1500-2000 rpms when accelerating with no drone at highway speeds. Its a great option and IMO best you can get with a tacoma. only about $100 brand new, but you have to have a shop install it unless you can weld it in yourself, usually pretty cheap. The 14" is also good but a little louder. The 18" is perfect, not too loud, but it'll let you know its there:thumbsup:

:thumbsup:Definitely do not want the Flowmaster if you dislike drone at highway speeds. At least not the 44 series. I have the 44 and it’s a little loud for most people that have ridden in the truck. I personally don’t mind, especially since I’m gonna do sound deadening in the near future for an audio upgrade, but unless you plan to do that as well I’d stay away from the 44.
If you go on YouTube and search the different systems you can get a basic idea how it is gonna sound. I love how mine sounds though!
One thing to note is that I always stay in 5th gear on highway at around 75-80...so it causes a good amount of drone. It is quieter at those speeds in 6th but I hate the lag in acceleration and so I never use 6th! Put on a 44 and put in a good system, then crank it up!

I got the Flowmaster Delta 40's and it sounds great with little to no drone, single in/dual out. I like a little drone when I'm in 5th at 24K rpm but @ 70mph I'm in 6th @ 2k rpm with no drone. Delta 40's for the Tacoma.$.02

I picked up the Borla Full Catback S-Type Series. It sounds amazing and no drone at all. Definitely recommend! Paid 570.00 but well worth it. Mine as well do it right the first time.

If you like deep sound without any drone effect I would recommend Magnaflow Cat-Back Performance Exhaust System Part # M/F19291. I have it on my TRD PRO and the only regret is that I didn't install it sooner. I personally couldn't stand the sound made by the original TRD Cat-Back on my MT PRO.

I miss having a magnaflow. I remember it having a great tone. However, I'm afraid it'll sound ricey on a truck. Is that not the case?

Here you go.... I made two really bad videos yesterday so please don't judge me for that. Just listen to the sound to a big speaker. Summary: outside, inside window closed, inside window open. I never exceeded 3800 RPM but I pushed the throttle. Usually it's quieter than what you hear on the video.

I've heard both 2.25 in and out as well as 2.5 in and out? Need solid confirmation for this shi... stuff as well as whether to get center to center, offset to center, etc etc.

Nice video...I suppose sound comparison is relative. To me, this sounds just like my TRD Catback...the tone and overall sound, sound alike to me.

I've heard many aftermarket exhaust for
These 3rd gens and none of them sound as good as the TRD exhaust. The tone is too ricey on most of those especially in the high RPM. There's very little drone with TRD catback

Not even close. The TRD cat-back sounds lame compared to Magnaflow. Check the links to the videos that I posted. You will notice the difference inside the cabin right away.

Yes. But sound quality is higher pitched. Too loud for me and daily driving. I'm not 16 anymore

I just picked up the Borla system and I'll be installing it next week. I'll post up a sound clip after that.

I'm not 16 anymore either. I just wonder what is your base for comparison? I compared the exhaust sound between my MT TRD PRO 2017 and my 2014 Baja TX. My 2014 is stock 100% and I never felt that I have to change anything to it. With my 2017 I have to spend over 3k to get it where I want it. The most important part is that you are happy with it. I'm pretty sure that you are super happy with the sound system on it too....but compared to what?

Link for this exhaust for $209 shipped?

I know there is several different ones from MBRP. I think some include a tip and others don't?

Have any of you guys ever heard of BAMufflers? They are located in California but sell online. I had a system on my Tundra and loved it. One of the best I ever hear short of no muffler at all.

    Here's his video online: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u97YzTzPxGc

I think in the video he says "without the muffler, but we are working on adding the muffler" but I think what he means is "resonator". His systems come with a resonator tube. At least the one I installed on my Tundra did.

Here's the video of my install on a Tundra so you can hear the difference between stock and BAM.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypUo14kJXzM

You'll notice the raspy difference. In the cab at speed on the highway it still sounded like OEM.....it was so night and day.

I do know that Borla makes a nice sounding system too.

Definitely a 2.5 in and 2.5 out, i bought a 2.25 and it had to be modified to fit the 2.5. Also, i got off-set to center and its perfect
