I expect great reliability from my 3rd gen... it's still Toyota after all. There are 1st and 2nd gens on the road with over 250k, sometimes over 300k. Why would I expect any less from my 3rd gen?

They talk about you having a hate mob, yet they always show up to brow beat newbies who are starting to see the short comings of the truck. I see it happen time and time again. We try and fill in people with details of the issues they're complaining about, and then the fanboys show up and pretend every 3rd gen is perfect.

I certainly don't think every 3G is crap, but I'm not gonna pretend like the defects are less than what they are. For example; Im actually a big fan of the 3.5 as a motor. I just wish the tranny would let us use it.

If hewhoshallnotbenamed's posts reflected this, no one would have a problem. No one is saying they're perfect nor are people completely dismissing the issues some people are having and some arent having any issues at all. Throwing blanket statements and labeling all 3rd gens a POS like someone above and constantly parading around and posting his 12k posts worth of the same repetitive jargon to newbies and older members without a shred of true data (he uses Consumer Reports and FB for crying out loud) to back it up is just plain ignorant. Literally just posts passive aggressively and tries to "balance" it out with some condescending follow up text that are within the boards rules to be "helpful". If you arent having an issue, you're a liar apparently. Oh and ignoring you if you dont fit that agenda.

There's a feller at work with a '07 4.0 taco, he has 320k miles on all factory original drivetrain components. Engine, Cat, transmission, timing chain, water pump, fuel pump. I know it's not typical for a V6 to go that long but if I can go even half of that on my 3rd gen, I'll be happy. Sure my truck has its quirks but I still wouldn't trade it for any other midsize in the current market. I may trade for a full size someday but not in the near future.

I think he probably ignored you because your posts come off douchey. Now, I'm not saying YOU are a douche. Just that your posts, often, cannot be read without a tinge of vinegar water.

Excellent for mold out here on the east coast. Most people don't know that, which I find shocking! Bleach does not work as well as vinegar.
