I would have went for that also, but my house phone cord does not reach out far enough to get to the truck.... I don't think it needs charging anyway..! What's with these new phones..? They have to be charged..? WTF.
Us old guys might be a little behind on some things, but I don't think I need a "Qi" charger....What the hell is that anyways..?
If I had a "Qi" I think I'd get one with a wired connection and would not need charging...!!
    :confused::confused::confused::confused:

I have no idea, I went to the dealer to look at a used vehicle and left with it.

To consolidate my Kia commuter car with my F350. Tacoma was the perfect fit for commuting, off road, and occasional hauling of stuff.

It was the choice that met the most of my functional goals.

(your question didn't specify that the answer had to apply to a 3rd gen purchase, so I took liberties. :D )

    I just like the looks.

Honestly, I should have waited for the Ranger. My truck is fine for what it is.

But it seems like Ford refreshes their vehicles (at least the F150 and Mustang) in response to customer feedback way more often than Toyota. The Ranger is going to blow the other trucks out of the water when it comes to performance and styling. They same way that the F150 dominates all the other full size.

The Tacoma is Toyotas 4th most important vehicle in terms of sales, and they still don't even put enough investment into it to even meet monthly demand for the car.

I'm curious what are Toyotas top 3 in sales above Tacoma? Camry, Carolla, Prius?

Because I've owned 4 Toyotas before this, 2 of them trucks, and not a one of them has ever let me down in any way.

They all went many years of ownership, and many miles without issues.

My 84 pickup. Despite being 2WD and being off roaded like it was a TRDOR 4x4.

My little 90 Corola SR5 coupe, driven for thousands of miles on the autobahn for several years like I thought it was a BMW 5 series. That poor little 1.6L at near redline for hours at a time at 100 mph+. And those poor little dinky brakes slowing down from all that. Not a single problem. (My 3 series BMW I had before that however....)

    My 94 Camry. Zero issues.

My 2002 Gen1 SR5 DC 4x4. Put up with more off road abuse than any 5 vehicles should have to take. Always got me out and back without fail. With 242k miles (many of those off the beaten path), I can't think of a serious issue I've had with it. Despite a bad ditch crash, and some serious "oops" moments. Broke a motor mount once. A few heavy duty zip ties, and I continued on.

Every single American and German made POS I ever owned gave me shit. And lots of it.

I know there are the haters on the "turd gen"....but I's takes my chances. And will LMAO when I pass them with their Colorado broken down on the trail in the middle of nowhere or as their Bimmer is being pulled on to a flat bed (BTDT). Until the 3rd gen proves differently.

I do shake my head at the AT haters that "shoulda gotten an MT". I get it, the AT isn't the greatest. But is it that hard to throw it over into "sport mode" and bump it up and down between 4, 5, and 6 every now and then depending on the driving situation? Gotta be less work than an MT, right?

Cabin too loud? It's a truck. You want to hear a loud cabin, jump into my Gen1 for a few miles.

I don't know. It's a truck. A little too "refined" for my tastes for a truck (really, could we just have a damn lever for 4hi and 4lo....it's a truck), but I can appreciate some creature comforts since it's my daily driver now. But am not going to bitch because it's not as quiet as / or rides harsher than mom's cadillac or the buddy's landrover.

I don't go on trail rides with tons of people and parts around, or will cell reception, and off-roading just for the sake of off-roading (no offense if that's your thing...I get it, it's fun). I don't mall crawl. I go out (oftentimes alone) miles from nowhere, and do not want to walk back out 30 plus miles to the nearest house or place I can get a cell signal. That's why I bought this Tacoma.

But...I will have a spare CPS tucked away in the back!

Became a home owner late last year, and two midsize sedans don't have much utility.

And most importantly, I wanted it.

    Rav4, corolla and Camry.

Sedans are quickly being replaced by Crossover SUVs, Trucks and SUVs, so Toyota can only expect Camry sales to fall just like Avalon. Full size sedans are basically dead now.

The Tundra, Tacoma and Highlander are extremely important vehicles for Toyota's financial future in America. You wouldn't be able to tell by what's happening to the models though.

Toyota needs to get their engineers to listen the American sales directors and American engineers and technicians. I feel like the big bosses in Japan just don't understand what Americans want at least with trucks and large SUVs.
