Tire size...again.

Well here is my question. Im sorry guys this might be a already answered subject but I looked and did not seem to find what I am looking for. Last summer (09) I bought my 07 double cab SR5 with the 245/75-16's on it and been wanting to put some tires on it. What would be the biggest tire I could run (height/width) while keeping the stock suspension?

 

I believe it would be 265/75/16 without rubbing at all. I've also seen people fit 285s but they trimmed a whole lot.

What's confusing to you about that?

 

It also depends on which tires you go with. I went with 265/75/16 awhile back before I even had a lift and I had no rubbing what so ever. Some people get Bilstein 5100s just to lift there trucks 2.5 inches to level with the back and that allows them to fit 285s.

 

Well that someone tells me that I should not need any suspension upgrades to run 265/75-16's and another says that I need 5100's.

5100's-only on the front right?

 

Well are you going to get 285s? because if your gonna get 265s then you dont need 5100s. Someone tell me if im wrong but I had 265s with no 5100s and i was fine no rub. My cousin has that on his tacoma also 265s with no 5100s hes doesnt rub one bit either. Pretty positive you dont need it. But if you wanna go to 285s then go with 5100 for a lift but if your keeping it 265s you dont need it.

 

No im not doing 285's. Just 265's.

If you get 5100s they are adjustable you can adjust them up for a 2.5 inch lift. So if your going with 265s then your fine.
