You can thank Toyota corporate for that by putting out a less than stellar truck.

That's a turn of phrase hombre. It's not literally about winning. It's like saying "this is good stuff right here".

Smitty, according to your post, this is winning? The losing part, you REFUSE to follow what these members did - trade for something you like. One guy took a ~$2000 hit, which is rolled into your loan? Easy peasy decision to have your new family in a reliable vehicle instead of a "turd" right? Now me, my Taco has been perfect and I feel with 100% confidant it will not let me or my family down when traveling. Easy winning - I have a awesome truck for myself, my wife, my kiddo, and work!

I have to disagree with this comment, though it does seem to have improved (possibly due to mods getting tougher with the troll accusations)

I have seen users come on here with a low post count and mention an issue only to have the White Knights come riding to the defense and immediately label them a troll or liar.

Do you remember the user whose differential locked up on the freeway?

He was labeled a liar unless he could provide GPS coordinates, Sat Nav timestamps, photos of the highway where it happened, and traffic cam footage for proof before they would even consider that his problem was real (this was before the differential recall went out).

For everyone on this site who complains of an issue, there is a White Knight at the ready to charge into battle, belittling their problem as either a non-issue, they don't know how to drive this new automatic that shifts different from 99.9% of all other automatics in the world, that's what warranty is for (since we all love sitting at the dealership eating their donuts), or insert excuses here.

I have multiple vehicles so I am on multiple forums.

None has a White Knight Brigade like here.

    ^ This guy gets it

The incessant whining from some in every single thread is borderline pathetic.

If you have issues, absolutely bring it to the community, helps others with similar issues and hell some of the time people around here come up with good quick fixes.

But the constant negative droning of some people makes you not even want to check the 3Gen forums most of the time.

This is quite true. Also quite true is the troll brigade stepping on anyone who dare says their truck is good. " Mine too was good until xxx miles", or " it's normal" are common responses. Again I have no problem with people who have legitimate complaints, it's when fantasy gets mixed with reality that's annoying. Just stick to the facts.

Even vortex or nasioc doesn't have the feel of this place.

Again, interesting words, but you fail to mention the members who are positive being called out for refusing to "see the truth" about what a POS their trucks are, or accused of somehow being on the Toyota payroll- correct?

I am also getting to the point where TW is not enjoyable anymore....I guess that will be considered a "win" for some members, lol

Really to me this is not about having problems, since that is a reason to be in this community. But some take it to an extreme, so be it.

I have seen this, but not to the same extent.

And usually not a "You just don't know what a POS you have" as much as a "Mine was good too until POS set in", neither of which is really very constructive.

Some shake. A lot from the posts on here. Mostly OR's, I think. Failure of the adhesive between the hood and underlying struts. Aren't you proud of me for that adult like response? Now quit being serious.

I drove a '01 Ford Sport Trac 5spd for over 250,000 miles. Over the course of 15 years I lived with all sorts of issues that sprung up. I replaced so much on that truck that it was practically new minus the metal and engine internals.

Having never driven a Tacoma before, my '16 is terrific compared to my Ford. Having said that, I was really torn between a 2.7L eco crew cab and what I eventually bought. Crossing my fingers that my Taco runs as well as my Exploder w/o all of the little issues.

Something tells me even Toyota alternators, compressors, etc have a < 200,000mi life.

you can add to your list>>Didn't you have a TEST DRIVE and do RESEARCH before buying the truck, if you had done so properly than you would still be tooling around in your glorius 6.2l full size Chevy that never had a pimple on its ass.

Honestly, I almost got into a new Silverado v8 4x4 for another 100 bucks a month, but what ultimately turned me off from the idea was the fact that I'd have to pay sales tax all over again. I can deal with a little re-budgeting per month, but the thought of giving Uncle Sam some more cash is what really steered me away.

To be fair, there are/have been some members, past and present that have done this on purpose, so sometimes the "white knights" just are skeptical of new members, especially when it comes to this.

I think this was the last one I participated in. Just in general, shit like this gets posted, so yall wonder why some people are skeptical.

You guys are driving me NUTS with this "butt hurt" expression... This originated from the expression "all but hurt". NOTHING TO DO WITH BUTTS/Asses or anything similar.

Example: "NM Lance was all but hurt to hear that no one gave a crap about his expression correction suggestions."

Cut it out guys! Not picking on you BeanDip, EVERYBODY on TW does this.
