Im not gonna lie, after hearing @misdirection1982's constant hard on fantasies about a jeep, I could see myself getting an old Cherokee sport from the 90's era. This would strictly be a crawler and I wouldn't invest more than a few grand to get it. I don't like jeeps enough ride wise to want to daily or IMO are they worth the pretty penny for a nice looking one. Strictly my perspective though.

There are more reliable beaters out there. Especially if you're daily driving it.

They are garbage. My sister in law had one and it had front differential problems constantly, sunroof leaked no matter what, electronics behind the dash were all screwed up, sounded like it was going to fall apart, etc... I warned her.
Edit hers was an 05 or 06 laredo with the v6

Leaving it outside before install to make sure the rustproofing is good?

I'd bet cutting them up is partly for easier handling but mostly a legal thing. This way someone doesn't get a rusted one from the junkyard, use it, and then try to sue.

I'm trying to decide if a Fox suspension setup is worth it or if i should keep aiming for your kit.

Nah - I need sliders, skids, headlights, bed rack, front bumper, rear bumper. So still stock sadly.
