    Hi all,

I'm the first to admit that I know nothing about cars or trucks but have had my Taco for a few years and have taken good care of it.

My tires are missing tire pressure gauges and instead of just buying those, I'm looking to buy new tires because my all seasons are already old and cracking.

Advice on what tires I should buy?

First of all, welcome to Tacomaworld. Second, tire pressure gauge? You mean the tpm sensors? Those are expensive to replace and reprogram. Just buy a good gauge and check it the old fashioned way. Quite a few members on here have gotten rid of theirs. As for tires we are going to need some more info. What's your driving habits? Lifted? 4x4? Winter climate? You looking for an aggressive tire or a quiet street tire?

Thank you! I took my car to the dealership to get an oil change and they came back and said since I don't have tpm sensors, my car won't pass inspection. Which I thought was odd because I never had them and was able to pass inspection? I check my tires the old fashion way but because I don't have the sensors, my tire pressure light is always on.

I have a V6, rear wheel drive, open cab. I live in Vermont so winters are harsh and icy. Looking for something durable.

Can't speak for Vermont but in Texas the tpm sensors are not an object of inspection. And have you looked into an all terrain tire? The Bridgestone revo 2 is a mighty fine tire. Good mix of street and all terrain.

There is a thread somewhere on here that gives you step by step instructions to disable the dash light

I've run Firestone Destination ATs, Nitto TerraGrapplers, BFG ATs, and Michelin LTXs on three different Tacomas. If the majority of your time is spent on blacktop, fork out the money for the Michelin's. You should be able to get them with a 70K mile warranty and there is no comparison in regards to the ride quality. YMMV

    Another vote for Destination A/Ts.
Great A/T that is not loud or super expensive
