It can cause premature wear. But at your mileage. They were due for replacement soon anyways.

The 01-04 trucks seem more prone to spacers wearing their wheel bearings...not sure why. Just what I've noticed.

When you get your wheels spaced way out it side loads the bearings and casing causing pre mature wheel bearing failure.

could probably find one easy enough, just measure the diameter and I can find
Looks pretty good, might steal that idea but with a a dark grey since my new trucks roof is kinda peeling. Also would look cool going 3/4 down the hood body lines and rounding off a bit short of the front of the hood.

Yea I've considered doing the hood like you describe, just don't know if I like the look of it that much. I'm seeing if I can just find a replacement hood that matches at a junkyard. There was one in panama city but it sold right before I called the place.

I might have a spare one sitting in my garage.

Just pay for shipping and it's yours (assuming I can find it)

    I lost my engine!

But luckily I had my brother from-another-mother to help me figure out where it went :)

@Speedytech7 respect for taking apart 2 trucks and making your new truck man. This one has been more than I bargained for - this was my most difficult project yet and I still have to put it together. :D

Let the degreasing and painting begin... :annoyed:

Haha it's a chore for sure, good on you for sticking with it though. Helps that the V6 is a couple inches shorter too, fits out the opening better. I degreased everything with ZEP Industrial Degreaser and it kicked ass.

Thanks man. The engine was a cinch - the transmission not so much - gonna bolt on the transfer case separately when I put it back together I'm thinking at this point unless I can figure out a good way to reinstall it connected.

I have grenaded a few on yota straight axles and chevys but not ifs. It also depends on if its a tapered bearing like a timkin. Those are 2 part and have seperate bearings and races. Or if it is a sealed bearing, flat roller like a skate board wheel. Also double row and single row handle different. Your bearing pre load tq can be very important , to tight and the inner and outer casing dont spin freely.

There's no good way to pull or put back the drivetrain all together. Easiest is separate the tranny and engine and pull separately. The tcase is a crap shoot, because Toyota was stupid and put bolts on either side of it. I will probably keep them attached when I put it back.

My bad I meant keep the transfer case on ir bolt it on after. If I had fab skills & more importantly equipment (right?) I'd cut out the core support and it would be a done deal - slide everything out at once.

If you really want them I'll just charge you shipping so probably around $45. I'd like them to go to a good home. They're in good shape. The bottom flange has stripped stud, but plenty of ways to get it out.
