It's just typical dealer bullshit they're trying to sell you on and hope you'll be dumb enough to bite the bullet...sadly, a lot of people are totally clueless when it comes to vehicles and would end up paying that without much question. You could probably have a local bodyshop do it for a fraction of that cost. Or just upgrade to a steel bumper and next time someone hits your truck in a parking lot, the damage will be mostly if not all on their vehicle...

I'm thinking about doing something from cbi now, since their bumpers are $800 and the install wouldn't be bad at all. I'm going to talk it out with the dealer to see first.

Did they at least try explaining the price to you? Only reason I could see a dealer justifying that cost is if they said the frame was a bit tweaked and needed straightening, which I'm pretty sure a dealership isn't equipped to do anyhow. Even then, 10k is way excessive

Yeah, from the photos that looks like it should be a fairly simple fix. I would ask them what the 10k price entails. If they say that's what a rear bumper costs I would go take your business elsewhere. Or maybe get a quote from a body shop and bring that back to them.

If the vehicle is new, and there is no damage, this could maybe be warrantied?

For your reference, a full replacement steel bumper, powder coated with some add ons + shipping, should be less than 2k.

^^^Bingo. If it is only the bumper they are trying to fuck you with no lube.

My vote would be go aftermarket like you expressed earlier.

Check the bed alignment, is one side closer to the cab? My ‘17 was off a bit, 6 T55 torx loosened, adjusted bed a bit, all is well now.

Zero damage, and that's what i thought. They are still choking over the fact that i plastidipped rims and emblems, saying that I may have worked on the bumper then too and screwed it up.

What about insurance? Isn't that what we pay them for?

Let them haggle with body shops and dealers.
