Presents for people. Just tell them you must sample the fruits of your gift.

I may ask the wife to run up there and get at least 2 of them. Brother inlaw would LOVE to get one for a present.

What is the benefit of the Jumbo Joe + Table over the regular 18"? The legs pop off pretty easily on the kettle and the bowl is deeper. Either way, you're pretty damn well situated for tasty vittles on the road. I bet anyone within sniffing distance of where you're at looks at their 3rd ham sandwich with disgust .

Weber sure has attempted to fill every niche they can with their kettle design. Certainly is nice to have options!

How do these puppies work? I might try and get one after work today haha. Just run off propane and put in wood chunks?

Ya it has a propane burner at the bottom with a tray for the wood chips. You fill the tray with the chips and they burn off and create the smoke. Works really well we have made many a BBQ meals on my friends.

Already asked the wife to stop and grab 2 of them on her way home later. Hope they still have them when she gets there. My friend can use a new one with his rotting. May just give it to him and say Merry Christmas.

This sort of stuff is why I love hanging around this place. So much good info from everyone here. Even though I don't need one of these it's an awesome deal and will make a couple of people happy.

I heard explosions too. Is this accurate? I'm only buying if the explosions are guaranteed.

Problem with electric smokers here is in the winter it gets cold. Like teens and twenties Fahrenheit below zero cold. So for an electric to work it has to be well insulated as in the $500 and up range. I've looked at them but already have an ATC for my kettle and keep it as low as 140* no problem as long as I want no matter what the ambient temp is. Haven't tried below 140* but cold smoking in the winter is not a problem for me :p

Yeah they are all $167 here too except one down in Iowa at $123 about 100 miles away. If it was $50 and local I'd likely get one.

Work and prep space in the woods. Yeah the legs do come off easy enough and I do it for my 22" for the upland journal shoot & cook and a few others. But those are at Sporting Clay facilities with lots of tables. Have used my tailgate before as prep surface too but it now has rubber on it for the dogs. So something more compact with a roll up or fold up table would better suit my needs.

Looks like a lot of places have sales on camping and cooking equipment right now. I don't even really start camping until the fall and have picked up a lot of gear on clearance over the years about this time including a canopy. I'm thinking the Cabelas Deluxe XL roll up table would work even better and it is on sale for the same price as the Weber smaller table. Trying to read the reviews on it now, and keep checking here for deals on things that I don't need LOL. But once purchased seem to get a lot of use. And still need to get this work thing done. Work interfers with life way too much. But it does pay for the toys.

If a thin sheet metal WSM smoker with a 1/4" thick silicone cover can get hot enough and maintain temp where you are at a Masterbuilt 30" electric with 1-1/2" thick insulated panels and door w/ a seal will certainly hold plenty of heat. Depending on which using you look at they range from $160 to $270.

With the cold smoke generator I can keep temps in the electric below 80 when it 90* outside. A pan of ice in the bottom and the smoker acts like a refrigerator and only turn the cold smoke heating element on until you get smoke. Turn it off and it will slowly feed itself and smolder for hours adding very little if any heat. Now I don't have to wait until cool/cold weather to produce cold smoked goods.

Years ago I had a bullet smoker and temperatures were erratic at best no matter what time of the year due to the thin metal. It was also a charcoal hog when temps dropped. I bet on a 18 hr low and slow I use 1/4 of the charcoal on my BGE that I did on an 3 or 4 hours smoking chicken parts.

I knew those super low prices were too good to be true on those weber 26"

eBay had a few from sellers with 0 feedback.

Saw this post from one of the weber kettle Group on Facebook

I am guessing your old bullet smoker was not a WSM if you had erratic temps:

Charcoal isn't a problem I always have plenty. Not as much as @scottalot :p but try to keep plenty on hand.

Just picked up this Char Broil 600 for $83 on clearance at Lowe's. Only came with 3 racks but I already ordered 2 more. This will become my dedicated meatball smoker Hahaha

Sold one of the kettle premiums for $50 this morning. I am still unsure if I wanna keep the other, or sell it and put it towards getting the ranch kettle listed close to me. If I can get the guy down to $240, I might do that.
