Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

I got a tracking number for order 1901 on Monday but USPS shows they are still "awaiting item". Maybe some last minute changes are delaying shipment. Or USPS tracking is messed up again (wouldn't be the first time).

 

We really wanted to get these next ones out with our cases, but it might not be happening. If they don't arrive by EOD then the kits will go out without them.

We have the boxes labeled, prepped ready..

Corolla / rav4 and other Toyota stuff is at the bottom of the list compared to tacoma. I've been silently working on finding some controls in the mean time for
Idle tables
Decel fuel cut
Rev limits
Enrichment switch rpm

As crazy as it sounds idle control has been the most difficult thing to find in these damn ecus

 

I'm order 1913 and personally in no rush...I'm more than willing to wait to get the case.

 

I agree.. I can never find the damn idle control.

 

@OVTune you can delay shipping (Order #1905) mine until you get the new cases in. My truck is currently torn apart for an aftermarket alarm and custom audio install. Then I'll be putting on the suspension lift. So my truck is at least 2-3 weeks from being put back together. If my kit was sent out now it would just sit around until then anyway.

 

used to be a screw on the carb, super easy to adjust.

Is the case just a storage casing for the hardware?

 

I'd rather mine just be shipped W/O the case than wait any longer lol. Maybe those that request a delay to get the case can go that way?!

 

x2 - but I know he's busy so doing a bunch of custom in/out order stuff probably isn't the best use of Mat's time. I'll take it as soon as I can get it though with or without case (and would just pay for a small shipping charge on the case later if that was available).

 

Praise the lord.... DEFCO is absolutely garbage as is idle. The AC compressor switching on causes the engine to shudder....

 

Is this for the tune that you offer on your web store ? I have a 2017 MT and I'm tempted to drive down there from Northern Ca.

I'm still very interested in what the story was on the studder fix. The news that 1.01B took care of that is what prompted me to place my order. Mine is almost unbearable, I've checked all the regular things that are mentioned like the maf and crank sensor. I'm a March 2017 production date and my sensor looks like the newer version. Really interested in knowing what exactly is causing all the weirdness. Coming from BMW 6 cyl's mainly, the tune of this truck is absolute crap from Toyota. It's like they didn't even drive it. When you cruise on the hwy at 115kph at 22-2500 rpm and that is the worst tuned area I just shake my head. And then out of madness you mat the throttle only to have it studder and hesitate, and then take off like crazy at 3500, just crazy haha. Raelly looking forward to the @OVTune tune.

I emailed him with the same exact idea, to pay a small amount to get the case later if he can go ahead to ship this thing. Waiting a month now so my patience is kinda run out.

 

Hell I am tempted to drive in from Texas for the Free dyno tune. If it was on my days off it would be a done deal.
